Shooting the 1K yd here in TN is just the greatest! From the NM scorched wind-blown parries to the serene, landscaped grass surrounded by acres of heavenly hardwood trees. Well, that and the fact that my very first round missed the "X" by 2"! I have a carbon fiber barrel with a brake. I'm being told that the carbon fiber will begin to wander with heat. This has become painfully true. I wanted to call it fatigue but It's more of a constant. Sighting in new rounds via bench resting and the same wondering occurs. Watching the LD shooting shows, and I see 99% steel barrels. I'd like to go to a 6mm variant but I'm so heavenly invested in the 6.5CM, I think I'll stay there. I have a 700 platform and for advice I get everything to order one and screw it on, to send it in and have it done "right". But first, which barrel? Oh, on the brake, I'm told that there are competitions that don't allow them. I'd at least want a threaded barrel? Asking here if a threaded barrel interferes with harmonics. Last is a suppressor a good idea? Not for hearing as much as for speed and accuracy of the rounds.
The first four shots were in the X. Then the next four were close to the X and then even further out. Perhaps a minute and less between shots.
