What are your thoughts on the Springfield xds 45 acp for a carry gun
I haven't carried either of my XDS-s in a while, in favor of other things. I have a .45 and a 9mm. Both the original (not Mod 2) model. What are your thoughts on the Springfield xds 45 acp for a carry gun
Carried the first generation at work for about 5 years. Also bought the 9mm version for practice. Both were sent in for the recall.
Soft shooting for a small 45, accurate and easy to conceal in a hybrid holster with untucked shirt. The cheesegrater front of the grip got subdued, although seem to remember the later generations were not as aggressive. Do not like the extended mags, and a total of 6 rds of 45 acp served the purpose with offside extra mag. Although carry slightly larger in retirement, kept the xds for front pocket carry on occasion.
The recall, and redesign of the grip safety, was before the 9mm XDS came out.
I misremember then. I remember the problem cropping up very soon after introduction, and the .45 was the first.
the serial number of recalled 9mm xds's is well documented.
The usual long expensive search. Thanks guys looks like I need to start looking for a good holster
Used to say "if memory serves" quite a bit. Lately have been forgetting to add that. At the time circumstances made it a pain in the butt to send them back, which is likely why i remember.I misremember then. I remember the problem cropping up very soon after introduction, and the .45 was the first.
