Its electroless nickel. Done by a local company as a test to bid for a contract with H&K. Deal fell thru when they stopped being imported. I was given the gun & two extra mags in exchange for some computer work I'd done for them when they were very short of cash. I ended up being very well paid indeed :)

PS what's the trick to get the images to show automatically in the post?

wally ..... go take a look HERE which is part of my mini site re image matters (also accessible thru the library link upper right) ... I describe more than one way of posting .. take a peek thru those sections ... should help and save me running thru it specially here.

BTW ... chevrofreak, for example .... do try if you can to get your pics a tad more compressed and/or smaller .. they are quite long downloads. In fact .. the whole of this latest page right now as I see it ... comes in with a total burden of about 1.4Mb ...... if all pics were 50k to 60k ... it sure would help!!

Thanks for the link to the how-to page.

Looks like I've got it now.

45R's image could use a little gamma adjustment.

www.gimp.org will let you download free photoshop-like software for Mac, Linux and Windows. You need the GIMP package and the GTK+ package. Can't beat the price and it keeps improving with every release.

Wally-
That was the intention of the picture to only see part of the gun and the lettering on the Surefire. Nightstand goodies :)

No need to gamma the picture. :D

If not for the trigger I'd not see a gun in the picture. My night stand goodies are more brightly illuminated than this by the LEDs on the digital alarm clock behind them :)

Smaug, what is the deal with the Glock 34? I've never seen one... I thought the fullsize Glock 9mms are Glock 17s? I'm no glock aficionado, so I would appreciate a lesson in Glock ID, 101. Very nice pics, by the way.

Check here hombre

That above Glock is actually one of the "practical tactical" which is longer than a normal g17.

I haven't had an opportunity to take "pretty" pictures, but here's my CZ75 Compact, two of a series of shots I took while field stripping it as an illustrated how-to.
