Can someone tell me the year of manuafacture for this Colt Diamondback 2.5" Serial D848--

D848** was made in 1976.
The "D" series that year ran from D72251 until the end of the "D" series at D99999.

thx. for the info on date of manuafacture . can someone also tell me if they were put out with gold letting and the colt emblem on frame done in gold . or has someone filled in the stuff ?
