I placed an order with my dealer, and paid in full, for a YHM 7.62 Phantom Ti in early February. As of today, my dealer still has no ETA on its production and Form 3. So, almost 7 months later, I have not even begun my Form 4 wait. I'm frustrated, and considering asking for my $850 back plus a cancellation of the $200 check to uncle Sam. I understand NFA takes patients, this is not my first, but this is borderline absurd. Has anybody else experienced this long a wait time from YHM? Thoughts?

Yes, YHM takes a very long time. We sell them, but always try to recommend something else. Had three ordered in March, just showed up last week. Its not your dealers fault. Its all YHM.

I am honestly surprised you got a Ti that cheap to begin with. MSRP is $1100, and cans usually sell for MSRP, or very close. Obviously the market could be different where you are, but they sell for MSRP here.

Well, oddly enough I received an email from my dealer about an hour after creating this thread, informing me that the can showed up yesterday.

All other dealers I checked with in the area had this can listed for $1100 - $1150, the guy I use always has better prices.

If you got a titanium suppressor then that's the reason for the delay. Back in Feb they should have told you the can wouldn't be made until mid-summer at the earliest because they ran out of raw material.

We just placed an order for some titanium 7.62 suppressors, expected manufacture date is January. We told our customers that before they ordered, all of them said to go ahead and they paid in full.

Can someone explain the process for Manufacturer ---> Dealer?

In other words what paperwork/process does the dealer have to do to get the NFA item in his stock/posession.

I am in the middle of the same situation as Captain, but with a Silencerco Sparrow. When I walked into my (non-stocking) dealer, he said he had 3 sparrows on order and one was not spoken for (one of the others had my buddies name on it)

At that time, he literally said "I'm expecting the cans in this week, maybe as early as tomorrow". I paid in full. that was the first week of March.

Since then I've heard a lot of hemming and hawing from him, but he keeps falling back on "Waiting on the form III from the ATF.

So, do dealers have the same 3-6-9 or whatever wait to get manufactured goods into their possession?

A part of me thinks they came in and he sold them to other customers and is now finding excuses.

It has to be transferred to him on a form 3 from the manufacture. Usually takes 30 days if the can has already been made. He can contact the manufacturer to find out the status. Some instances so take longer. 30 days is a usual ballpark, but not set in stone

I'm still waiting for my order from AAC, but I'll give it until February before I consider spending my money on a more available can.

Same situation here. Went to purchase a Silencerco Sparrow from my LGS, didn't have any in stock but said they had been on order since January so I want ahead and paid for one in full. Now that was back in May and still nothing. I was getting a tad bit worried but after speaking to him last it seemed that Silcencerco was busy with the SWR merger and a little behind, should be here soon.

I suppose if anything we can look at the NFA game as extreme patience training.:D

I like that. And it fits. The problem is the manufacturers get behind, then ATF is always behind, so you're left waiting. It sucks, but it is what it is.
