With hot weather coming I am trying to decide between these two for pocket carry.

The mini is .22lr/.22mag and the Keltec is .32acp. The NAA's grip is a little clumsy and is single action. But the quality is higher and to me so is the dependability.

The Keltec is a larger centerfire cartridge, easier to hold on to, with a double action trigger. But I almost don't dare buy a Keltec product, from what I've read the quality is really erratic. Maybe I'll get a good one, maybe I won't.

They both cost the same, ammo is plentiful (except the .22 is lots cheaper for practice), warranty is the same, many holster choices, and both have excellent customer service reputations.

So, which would you pick? Please do not recommend anything else (I have a .38 snubnose that I think is too big for the pocket), I've looked at everything else and have settled on these two.

Thanks.

Kel-Tec here too, and I prefer revolvers overall. I've actually considered a P32 for times when deep concealment is of the utmost importance. I vastly prefer a 38 snubbie as I don't shoot small autos very well, but there are times that I cannot conceal even that and as I said, sometimes concealment is critically important.

I personally prefer the P32 over the P3AT as the P32 generally seems to be more reliable, and it is easier for my big hands to hold onto under it's lighter recoil than the snappy 380 P3AT. Just stick to FMJ in either gun for sufficient penetration.

The NAA mini revolver is an extremely well crafted little gun, but there comes a point when a gun becomes too small to be of much use to most people. 22LR is already iffy in the penetration department, which isn't helped by the mini's tiny barrel.

Keltec. Remember it is an automatic and it will be quicker to reload. Especially since it is a .32 and you might need the reload. I always carry an extra magazine with my .380, becuase it is small and there is not reason not to.

No contest at all.

Keltec.
+1
I have both and the Kel Tec would be my choice. I find it easier to shoot and get hits with. Mine is very reliable (I can't remember ever having a problem with it:)). Reloads (or even carrying extra ammo) are no contest at all.

In regards to Kel Tec quality; I think the P32 and P11 are the best of their pistols. They do have a lifetime warranty and I've read that Kel Tec is good about honoring it (never had to use it myself:cool:).

The Mini is nicely made; everybody should have one:D

I was struggling with the exact same option a while back. I went with the KT P32 and don't regret it one bit. It is totally reliable, holds more rounds of a more powerful caliber, and I don't have to cock a hammer with every shot. It is also easier to shoot accurately with than the NAA mini's are. My wife liked my P32 so much that she took it... so I bought a second one for me. Great guns.

Nothing against the NAA's, but if its one or the other, I'd go P32.

The NAA is too small to control reliably and too slow to shoot effectively.

I carried a NAA until the P3AT came along. Now the NAA is in the safe and the KelTec goes along when nothing bigger will work. My wife and I both have first generation hard chromed P3ATs, bought NIB, and have never had a bit of a bobble with either of them.

fwiw,

Kel Tec without a question.
Bigger caliber, more reliable ignition, faster rate of fire (SA revolver vs Semi-Auto), and as others have pointed out more controllable. All around win.

Kel-Tec. I have bought 5 new KT in the past year:S2K, P32, P3AT, P11, P9F. Did not do F&B on any of them. Just cleaned, lubed, and shot them. Not a bit of trouble from any of them.

I also would go with the Kel-Tec. I have 2 P-3ats and I have had no problems with them whatsoever. I carry them when I need the smaller gun due to clothing constraints and I cannot carry my Taurus 9mm, if I am carrying the 9mm the Kel-Tecs become backup guns.

I have all three: NAA Mini, K-T P32, K-T P3AT.
The Mini in it's smallest form is a bear to actually shoot quickly on-target. You get one finger on the grip and the gun shifts in your grip with every shot. I love my Mini though...it's fun to play with. A good last-ditch deep concealment gun if you need it.
The K-T's may be a little larger, but both still pocket easily. The P32 is easier on the hand than the P3AT, but both are good. I have never had an issue with a Kel-Tec product. Reliability has been excellent on the ones I've owned. That includes both 1st and 2nd generation designs (have a P32 made in the third month of 1st Gen production).
Heck, I have even a 2nd Generation new Kel-Tec P32 on layaway right now! They were on sale this month and my wife wanted me to put something on layaway for her to give me for my birthday in a couple weeks.
A P32 with 8 rounds of S&B or Fiocchi beats 5 rounds of .22LR in an NAA Mini any day.

Ammo concerns? Currently .22LR is easiest and cheapest to find. .32acp is pretty available online. .380 is tougher, but I've been able to keep a good stock on hand by simply keeping back-orders at 2-3 places. A steady flow comes in that way.

Apart from those random pictures of the "Swiss Mini Gun" floating around the internet, I don't believe there is another currently-made, fully-functioning, multi-shot firearm as small as the NAA Minis. They are truly in a size class of their own. If you had said NAA Mini or Ruger LCP, I'd go with the LCP. But my only experience with a Kel-Tec product was a very bad one, and although I know there are lemons in every brand, and some swear by the dependability of their P32, I wouldn't personally trust one. The LCP I shot was flawless. My NAA Mini Magnum (1-5/8", .22 Mag/.22 LR) has been flawless. The size of the Kel-Tec P32 is pocket-friendly. The size of the NAA Mini is closed-fist-friendly, literally. I can keep it wrapped up in the palm of my hand or slip it into a sock, it will fit almost anywhere. The single-action and miniature grips are a bit clumsy, but the fit and finish are astonishing for such a tiny firearm. Plus they cost $150-$200 brand-new, and some come with 2 cylinders. Notice I didn't get into ".22 WMR vs. .32 ACP". I'm only talking about the firearms themselves. For shear size, dependability, and fit and finish, the NAA Mini is superior to the Kel-Tec in my opinion. I'll leave the caliber wars to others.;)

Kel-tec P32 for me. The NAA seems better made, but the P32 has a decent reputation and I haven't heard many complaints about it. Once take quality out of the equation, you end up with caliber and ease of shooting as the most important factors. The P32 is larger caliber and faster to shoot, so...
P32 it is.

The only guns I read about failing to function properly more than the Kel-tec must be the NAA line of revolvers. If it were me, I'd look elsewhere.
