Your Most Accurate Handguns?

The 2 that I sold [stupid]

I had a Smith 686 and a Colt anaconda that were both tact drivers. Honestly from a rest they were deadly accurate. One had a 8 and 3/8ths barrel and the other had a 8 inch one. I felt that if I wanted to lug something that big I would carry a rifle. Wish I still had them.

Now that I consider myself a collector I try not to sell anything.

In order:
TC Contender, .30-30 Super 14, Leupold 4X
Colt Mark IV, Centaur Systems Quadracomp, Wilson trigger and ejector, Pachmayer sight.
Kimber Ultra CDP II
Ruger KMK-512
Glock 26
H&K USP45C

Argentine Hi-Power, Post-war P-1 and S&W M10. All used guns that aren't real pretty, but they put the rounds where I want them to go and they put real close together!

My SIG Trailside. The factory test target shows a <1" group at 25 yards. From a rest with cheap ammo, I was able to duplicate it.

My best shooting centerfire is probably with a Sistema that I got rebuilt and tweaked. It's also one of my favorite CCWs.

Second place would go to my S&W Model 28-2.

Of course, my CZ-Kadet can easily outshoot both, but it's just a .22

My Valtro. Might just be the trigger and tight bushing / lockup.

I think of it as Practical Accuracy to do quick shots from the ready - vs benchrest style accuracy. Today I hit the reactive chest-sized target 19 times out of 20 at 25 yards - 1 second between shots. Getting better, but still a ways to go.

Had some problems with extraction - I don't even feel the slide kiss the receiver during recoil, so prob. need a lighter spring or to spice up the load a bit. Leaning towards the latter. I want a fireball coming out of my .45. That Win 231 seems to do the trick real nice:

My Model 41 is very, very accurate.

My 6" 629 once put 4 of six shots in the same hole @ 50 yds open sights and over bags.

My most accurate handgun is my T/C Contender with 10 inch barrel with 3x-9x scope in .223. Also, my S&W Model 29 .44 mag with a Gilmore Leopold red dot is very accurate. My CZ-75B 9mm is a tack driver. My Kimber Custom Defender II with Crimsom Trace grips will shoot 8shot grours of one ragged hole at 20yards offhand. Last week I bought a S&W Model 17 that I haven't had time to take to the range yet. My dad's 17 is the most accurate handgun I've ever shot so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

For off hand shooting my S&W 41 or Ruger MKII - pictured is the 41 with a 50 yard target shot with one-hand hold. Gun would no doubt shoot all in the X ring if I would do my part!

Accuracy from a rest - my TC Contender 10" 22lr match has fired many groups that would beat rifles. The 357 mag barrel I have would easily win the most accurate of my centerfire handguns.

For revolvers my Smith 629 44 mag and Smith 686 357 mag are nearly equal in accuracy.

There are three of my handguns that I know I can always depend on to produce great groups.
My Ruger Bisley .44 Mag (7 1/2" barrel) is one inch accurate at 25 yards with a couple of loads, the 300 grain Speer softpoint over H110, and a 325 grain SSK bullet over the same charge of H110.
My Freedom Arms .454 with 10" barrel is a one incher at 25 yards shooting either a 300 gr BRP or 335 gr SSK hardcast over a max charge of H110. It also shoots a 300 gr XTP, loaded over H110 in a .45 Colt case, just as well.
I have a .32 Mag Ruger Single Six with 9 1/2" barrel that I have not yet begun to explore the full potential of, but it will shoot the Federal load with the 85 gr XTP into close to an inch at 25. Nice little squirrel gun. ;)
All of these groups were shot rested on bags at 25 yards with open sights.

Just getting warmed up at the range today, offhand at 7 yards. Minor League distance to be sure, but that is 10 shots you are looking at. 8/10 shots you can cover with a nickel ain't bad, at least for me. :D

SIG P220ST and SIG P226 in 9mm

Yes, I've shot more accurate guns, particularly custom 1911's shooting softball loaded SWC and reloads. But the SIGs I shoot with full power loads/defense loads. Their uncanny accuracy, one of the many reasons I would never part with them. Sweetness!!

An old High Standard Model HD Military with a 3X scope....without a doubt the most accurate handgun I've ever used.

But it jams and misfires like crazy. :cuss: Talk about a Love/Hate relationship! :banghead:

My 2" smith M 15-2 will shot 2" 6 shot groups at 25 yards.3" 65-3 will shot 2.5" groups at 25 yards using my reloads, shooting S/A and offhand, not bad for a couple of stock revolvers.

Hands down

it would be my Freedom Arms 454 7.5" barrel. With 300 Grain XTP Magnums over 32 grains of 296, it will easily keep all five shots in 1"-1.5" at 100 yards off the bench. By far, my most accurate revolver. Accuracy and power in the same gun are hard to beat......GS

Best of the ones that I own now. In no particular order.

Ruger MK-II
Bersa 23 .22lr
Bersa 383-A .380
S&W 19 6"
Star BM 9mm

Best of the ones that I stupidly sold:
S&W 586
Ruger 22/45
Colt Commander custom .45acp

I miss the S&W 586 so much that I recently purchased another one. I should have it in a few days.
