I have a Yugo 59/66A1 rifle in very good condition, I'm guessing (minor dings in stock, bluing worn on high spots & corners), I'll have photos of it soon, but the gun is in pretty good shape. I need to sell it & am not sure what the going price on these rifles are at the moment. Here's the rest of the story:

I have the rifle because a friend of mine died & he entrusted it to me to give to his son. I took his son to the range & taught him how to operate the gun, we shot it a bit, but I did not give the rifle to him as he did not have a FOID card (something needed in ILL for a gun owner. I'm not risking my axe.)

Not long after, said son, living with his mom (also my friend), got involved with heroin, which in turn got him in trouble with the law. The kid's only 19 now, but he can't have a gun. And seeing as how the kid also stole things from his mother & her new hubby (also my friend) to support his habit, the consensus is that I should sell the rifle & give the money to his mother. All parties agree. (The mother & her hubby both do not have FOID cards, so I can't turn the rifle over to them)

Due to the recent gun-buying frenzy, I don't know what these things are going for. What I would like to know is what the current value of a Yugo 59/66A1 rifle in (what I'd say is) very good condition, all numbers matching, is going for.

I have seen some ridiculous prices on them online, but I'm not looking to get the very most out of this thing, I just want to sell it. If I can determine the going price, I'll drop mine to ensure a quick sale. Carrie (the boy's mother) needs the money & I told her I'd do all I can to help her out, she got "downsized" by AT&T a few years ago & could use the money.

Sorry to blather on, but could anyone give me a realistic price on what these guns are actually selling for today?

I thank you in advance for any assistance in this matter.

Up until a few months ago, a local chain here called Turners had brand new Yugos for $399.00. During the panic, of course, all of the prices went crazy but at least out here in Cali, a price for that is back down to around $350.00
