Although the OP didn't identify the shotgun, it was likely an old Winchester, or a newly made Chinese copy or repro of one. They're really geared for the cowboy action shooter crowd. They're heavy and somewhat clunky....but they will do what any pump shottie will do ... just not quite as efficiently.

Mine gave me a HK P7 for my birthday and then promptly claimed it as hers (along with my G26) so I had to go find a second P7 for me as an early Christmas present!
My wife doesn't shoot, however she has been known to disappear and return with a new gun from time to time. I'll show her a gun I'm interested in and she'll tell me to buy it for our accumulation. Will also show me magazine ads and tell me she wants that gun. I get to shoot them and she looks at them. Celebrated our 50th anniversary yesterday so I think she's a keeper.
