The ebay of today is nothing like the ebay of years ago.
To me Ebay is no different than Gunbroker.
True, and true. Both are full of scammers, but can be a useful source for specific items. I bought a nearly NIB old RCBS Ohaus 5-0-5 scale last year off eBay, and I just bought a part for my Dan Wesson .41 off GB. You REALLY have to do your homework if you are buying something unusual... because if it sounds too good to be true, most likely it is. Shill bidding is the norm on GB in particular.
In the past, I have sold quite a bit of stuff... gun and non-gun related. It got to the point that eBay was taking nearly 25% of the final sale price through fees, shipping, transaction charges and such, and the 'new' eBay is even worse... locking you into their shipping. It was terribly cumbersome to list items for sale... and then you have to deal with the buyers...
