What is "it" that a barrel likes???

I used to know a guy who did vibration analysis for a living. I say used to, because we used to keep in touch fairly regularly, get together when he was in town, and I'm pretty sure he passed away during the pandemic (smoker with health issues). Anyhow, he would use his gear to tune golf clubs...

Lyman "Quick Slick"... save your money

Same here. Except that I found I like the Iso / Lanolin mix a little more dilute, like 12:1. I spray a little of the Iso mix on tall pistol cases, and no longer have issues with them.

Holiday reloading and returning from a long break

Some people used to scoff at reloading 9mm, saying it wasn't worth the time, ammo is cheap, etc. But they were pretty quiet when it was unavailable or very expensive. I like the fact that you can tune it to your favorite unloader, and if you have components from a few years ago, you are saving $.

Holiday reloading and returning from a long break

Right there with you. Plenty of non-reloading things to do, but some reloading is on the list. Was scrounging for ammo before the last range trip, and came to the realization that it's been way too long since the last time the handle on the press has been pulled.

    How much brass to save

Dude, thanks - I really appreciate that. I have enough for my needs - it's just that finding 380 laying about is always a treat, compared to the amount of 9mm I find. Today I brought 2 coworkers out to the range - one is in the army reserve, a new dad, and rarely gets to shoot, the other is...

    How much brass to save

Sure you can. So can I. But, I was at the range today, and the 9mm was just laying around everywhere, and I remember when it was hard to come by, so....hoping to find some 380 in the mix....

    Brass Storage in Metal Can?

Probably true, but brass banging around in the can will quickly break through any coatings.

Tired of these high primer prices

Some of us have been thru a few shortages. You learn quickly that you never have enough, even if you only shoot several thousand a year.

    How much brass to save

I did a little math using current cost of my favorite calibers. Without working too hard or very fast, I clear $60+/hr, untaxed, including brass cleaning. And I enjoy it. I think you might be right.

    Brass Storage in Metal Can?

Good idea. Any kind of dis-similar metal contact can cause corrosion.

Tired of these high primer prices

I'm still using up primers I paid $15-$25/1K for. But they won't last a lot longer. $85/1K is a tough sell. Hoping things get more reasonable soon.

Powder challenge, unique vs blue dot.

About 10.9. Which is over the current Lynam manual top load. IIR, the manual I was using at the time listed 11.4 as the top load.

Powder challenge, unique vs blue dot.

The only thing I like about Blue Dot is the blue dots. Years ago, loaded some 357 mag with it - my God it was stout. Was supposed to be a mid range+ load for 158gr, not top of the chart. Even took a few rounds down and checked them with a beam and an electronic scale and they were fine...

Anyone know anything about this barrel pressure and bullet velocity spreadsheet?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it might be kind of legit.

Anyone know anything about this barrel pressure and bullet velocity spreadsheet?

Ever get curious about something, start an internet search, and wind up somewhere you've never been before? This has been around for a while (Feb 2012), so I have to think someone here has seen it before...
