"I assume you're talking about the Wannamacher?"
Oops! Yes, that is correct; I did not realize that there were more than one show held in those months.
Thanks for the replies! I'll go in November, as planned, and will likely return in 2013!

I have not been to these shows, and wondered if there has been a difference in participation or vendor presence between the April and November shows.
I am thinking about going to the November show this year.
Thx!

Although I have been shooting and reloading rifles, handguns and shotguns for over 40 years, including competing in all three disciplines, I have never had any experience with black powder weapons. (As I just recently learned that the later are not considered firearms?)
I am now considering...

"I don't know that I'd buy a short mag version, just because I had a short mag caliber."
Actually, the main reason I am interestd is that this one has the longest eye relief I have found within my price range. Also, the smaller objective will allow it to better fit the rifle with the rings it...
One of my Christmas presents was a Tikka T3 Lite .300 WSM rifle. (It included the scope rings, by the way, and they are of the 'short' variety.) To start breaking it in, I installed an old Simmons scope that I was not using.
Now I am considering a Burris 4.5-16x32 Short Mag Ballistic Plex...

Actually, I received everything as expected, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the rifle comes with scope rings. Does anyone have any experience with these rings? They seem to be somewhat low, and I won't get a chance to try to use them until the weekend.
Will appreciate any...
Santa Claus will be leaving a new Tikka T3 Lite .300 WSM under the tree tonight. It will also leave new Redding dies and some brass, together with a couple of boxes of Winchester .300 WSM (180-gr) to get started.
After I break in the barrel with the commercial Winchester ammo, and preliminary...

Hello Art - Nice to hear from you!
In regards to the military restrictions - that is not a problem. Last year, after he got back from Iraq from his third tour*, I asked his son what he thought his dad would like to have for his BD, and I said "a really good present for his service", and he...
We are getting close now, and it does appear that transporting the pistol as I will do and then having an FFL do the transfer would be perfectly fine. I could even ship it myself to an FFL and it would be legal:

I have already checked the TSA and specific airline regulations, and I can meet them OK. As a matter of fact, I flew from Missouri to Texas recently to shoot in a match, and then brought the guns back with...
A co-worker was taking about his adventures with his Barrett .50 cal rifle. I arrived when the conversation already was underway, but gathered these bits: he uses 186-gr bullets, and has chronographed them at over 5,000 fps. Since I did not know what had been said before I arrived, I did not...
