Golden Sabers or Winchester Rangers 230gr go through mine without any issues.

Look at Sig for a good 1911. I have a Sig 1911 compact and if you compare features, Sig makes a great 1911 with a lot of extras that you would not get with another manufacturer. I have about 300 rds through mine without a single hitch.

Did not see a FNS 9 mentioned. I just picked one up for under $400 with NS and 3 mags. I am being converted from Glocks. Still like my 19 and 23 but the grip and ergos of the the FNS are winning me over. It has been cold here so I only have one mag through it but it is worth looking at.

My FNX is the best .45 double stack to shoot. I have smaller hands and I would take it over a Glock any time. Just picked up a FNS 9 and I am getting converted from Glock.

Even with the recall, I would recommend the XDs. I own a 45 but the 9 is the same frame. The .45 is one of the nicest shooting .45 pistols that I own. Throw in a IWB holster and it hides away even with just a shirt and tie.

Sig makes a good 1911 for the money. If not, Ruger would be my second choice.

Should be OK. The 19 and 23 are the same frame. Make sure the spring is installed and centered but everything should be OK.

I own several Glock models. My first CCW was a G27. My EDC was a XDs till it went back for the recall. I have tried a G30 and G36 and cannot seem to shoot them well. The compact Glocks tear me up when spending any range time with them. I don't have any issues with my G29. My hands just do...

Check the serial numbers against the recall. They may be out of the recall. Mine ran perfectly but I sent it in anyway. Still had my G27 and 23 to cover handle the duties till the XDs is back. Did not realize how well the XDs conceals till I had to go back carrying the G27.

Own a G23 with a G32 barrel and a P229 in .40 with the 357 Sig barrel. Both handle the .357 Sig round very well. Glock or Sig would be my choice but that is just me and my worthless opinion. Try and see what works for you.

Glock 19/23 has my vote. Had a P239. Was a great gun and worked well but was heavy and I could carry the G19 just as good. Like stated, I had a P239 and still have the G19.
