Walther Pistols...

As long as I can have as many of other brands as I wish. I'm gonna go classic with my PP 32 if I have to have my only gun be a single Walther I'd keep my PPS40.
Only other Walther I have is a P38 which I'd be hard pressed to get rid of as it's as classic as the PP and I'd still trust it for SD in a pinch.

Same here. That gun is greatly overrated. Horrible trigger pull.
Given the intended use, that's hardly a handicap.

It serves the same role as a 2" revolver, self-defense at contact or near contact distances, albeit in a flatter, somewhat less effective package.

Can it replace a 3 1/2" or 4 1/4" M1911 in .45acp? No.
Can it replace a 2" .38 Special, or especially .32 S&W Long revolver? Absolutely.

Well I own a "Walther" (actually Umarex) P22 but would gladly give it up for a P99AS. I like the looks of the PPK/S but do not find them very pleasant to shoot.

Neither do I. My wife has one because of the James Bond thing. It the fancy factory engraved one to boot. Arthritis has made it extremely painful for her to shoot the cute little thing and she doesn'y anymore. She's nice and lets me shoot it anytime I wish. It's nasty enough I seldom get the wish. I bought a RIA Baby Rock. The difference in shooting the two is like daylight and dark. The PPK/s does stack it's brass in a fairly small area compared to the RIA scattering it's all over the place.
