who all makes the.45acp revolver(new or old)

Old - the Model 1917's for WWI from both Colt (a New Service) and S&W (an N-frame). Then S&W has the Model 25 & 625 revolvers, and the very difficult to find Model 26 (tapered barrel instead of the model 25 heavy barrel). Taurus has some 45 Colt and 454 revolvers, but I didn't find any in 45 ACP.

Don't forget the Taurus Tracker in .45acp. I know a few people with those .

Don't forget the Ruger Blackhawk or the Dan Wesson.

I can tell you from experience, the Colt 1917's are a dream to shoot. Mine is so much fun. I had a Smith 1917 and I know it's just me, but I don't like Smiths. I stripped what little finish was left (from a bad cold blue job by previous owner), bead blasted it and parkerized it myself and sold it for twice what I had in it. It just didn't fit my hand. The Colt though is a blast. I also owned a 25-2 in nickel and shot it a few times, and the grips on it felt better, but still not Colt. Here's my $275.00 1917 purchased in 89.

Nobody mentioned the S&W 325...N-frame 45acp, Scandium/Titanium, 23 oz, about 2 1/2 inch barrel.

Great for carry, a little nasty for shooting a lot.

S&W N Frame 4" fixed sight similar to the 25 shown above.

Lew Horton Smith and Wesson Model 25 w/ a 3 inch BBL is a nice choice.

Dan Wesson had a series of them... chambered to accept 45acp and .460 Rowland (wildcat 45magnum), if I recall rightly. Same size frame as their 445 supermags, the forcing cone and barrel were just set in closer to the shortened cylinder inside the frame.

I got S&W 625 5'' about a month ago and it is one awsome piece of work. That thing is accurate and has very little kick on the n frame.

I bought a 22-4 in .45 acp its the Thunder ranch model for Lew Horton, 4" tappered barrel fixed sights. No logo and a 5th screw. It has a fabulous blued finish which is as good as the finish on my 1967 27-2. Very accurate very nice trigger. If you do a search you can read my review.

I also own a model of 1989 5" 625.

I really like Smiths.

If you want a k frame sized .45 that holds 5 shots, I can recommend the Taurus 455 in the 4" barrel. but they are no longer being made, davidsons may still have some though.

I'm very please with both of these even though the newest hasn't been shot yet. Also plan on getting one of the new S&W M22 Model of 1917 revolvers when they start shipping in March.

Purchased a 625 S&W

Purchased a new stainless 625 Revolver in 45 ACP about 6 months back. Can't be more happy with it. It is a joy to shoot and the workmanship is very good. I guess you get what you pay for is exactly the right thing to say. I have I have six 45 ACP semi-autos and this is my first revolver in that caliber. It has above average quality along with the model 586 in 357 magnum which resides in the safe also. Good shooting gentlemen

Smith and Wesson 625JM - Love it!

An "N" framed S&W revolver in .45ACP is a pure joy to shoot! The most pleasant shooting big bore caliber handgun out there . . . and the accuracy will amaze you!

They are may favorite handguns, period!
