Dream revolver

mmm.. had a dream revolver thought last night...

sp101 in .327 with hammer, with a optic front sight, custom grips with a china style dragon on it, and then the revolver has a similar pattern/theme engraved on it.

How about taking the S&W 500 Magnum and chambering for a 10 shot .357Magnum? With all that weight it would be like shooting a 22LR.

Ruger Double-Action Compact Hunter

Call mine the Ruger Double-Action Compact Hunter:

#1:
It's a .357 SP101 with interrupted threads on its interchangeable barrels: 2", 3", 4", 6"
A detent ball or latch centers it in the frame just like the crane. Rugged adjustable rear sight, with appropriate-height front sights on each barrel.
The odd man out is the 4" barrel, but why not?

#2:
Again, switch-barrel SP101, but bring it back in .22 with 4" and 6" barrels and swappable .22LR/.22WMR cylinders.

Here's a teaser:

Start with a model 629 mountain gun... give it XS big dot sights, chromed hammer & trigger, hogue bantam grips, and a performance center combat revolver package. "The Ranger"

I'd also like to see a 5.5" SRH in .454. Add magnaporting and a set of lighter wolff springs. Mill the frame/barrel extension so it's also a rail mount. "Plan B"

A Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 Mag with the "Target Gray" finish, gray laminated grip inserts, unfluted cylinder and a 5" barrel that doesn't look like it was an afterthought. Something like the picture...

My dream revolver would be something similar to a very beefed up Smith and Wesson Model 3. It would have a perfect blued finish with class "C" engraving. The grips would be made of Africa PauDuk and checkered. It would have a massive cylinder because it would be chambered for 5 shots of .475 Linebaugh. The action would have to be silky smooth and the trigger would be gold plated.

I guess that would be mine.

Have a great day!

SP101 in 22LR/22WMR Conv. with 4 inch bbl.

2nd the motion for Ruger SP101 in 45ACP

S&W J Frame Chief's Special 6 shot in 327/32 Mag.

S&W 351PD with 3" bbl.

Ruger Single Six or Blackhawk w/ swing out cyl.

Ruger Bearcat with properly engineered 22LR/22WMR conv. cyl.

Ruger GP100 in 44 special.

A new Colt Magnum Carry with 2, 3, and 4" barrel choices. If you haven't shot one of these fast, you won't know how well you can hit with a true snub when you're in a hurry.
While I didn't pick up on this thread before now, I dream the most about... well, women, of course, but then a set of Royal Blue Pythons in all four lengths, chambered in .40S&W, and another in .41 Special, and all eight of them cut for moonclips.
Just dreamin'...

By the time you arrange .45 ACP diameter cases in an L-frame cylilnder
with enough cylinder wall thickness towards the outside of the cylinder there's not enough room for an operable extractor, so any cylinder to the same dimensions such as the GP100 or smaller K-frame or
SP-101 is also impossible.

Sorry, but it comes up on the S&W Wish List board now and
again.

S&W did bring back the n-Frame 610 this year, in 6" and 3 7/8"
Bbl. lengths, - it fires 10MM AUto and .40 S&W with full moon clips.

One L-frame that has never been built is a 5 shot .40 S&W -
probably because S&W wouldn't want to see someone rechamber the
cylinder in the 10MM AUto - just my speculation.

I'd llike to see a 6 shot .327 Federl Mag.on the K-Frame
in 4" & 6" bbl. Len. options.

Heck just make a 617 without the full underlug barrel slim the
barrel and just give it an extractor shroud

everyone has one. here is mine: DA revolver, not more than 30 oz, 4 inch barrel, stainless, .38 +P (no .357), six or more round cylinder, night sights front and rear with the rear sight adjustable, no internal lock.

as far as I can tell, this revolver doesn't exist, unless maybe you are Bill Gates. Including new and used revolvers, what comes closest?

A 3",DA,SA 44 spl. with fixed sights.Aprox 22 ounces with a front sight in a dovetail for windage, and easily swapped out sight blades of different heights for elevation purposes.Bead blasted stainless finish would be nice also.
