If you buy an O/U, stay away from anything with an Aluminum receiver. Aluminium receiver break guns get loose much quicker than steel. They're meant to be carried a lot, and shot a little.
You're going to get 1,000 different answers from 1,000 different people. That's a bit like asking what color Corvette should I buy? Or what kind of digital camera should I get? Your best bet would by to visit several different gun shops, and look over as many different models as you can.
I...
I'll second both Boyd's and Stocky's. One of them, (I forget which), bought out Fajen. That's where I got my Remington XP-100 Coffee Laminated pictured below. The Thumbhole Laminate on the Marlin X-7 came from Stocky's. Both were a drop in fit.
You have to remember that even with factory .45-70 rifle rounds, the recoil isn't all that bad in handguns. The barrels are much too short for complete powder consumption. Especially the Bond Arms Derringer. I have a Magnum Research BFR in both .45-70, as well as .500 S&W Magnum. And there is no...
I wish they made the Snake Slayer, or some of the other brushed Stainless framed, wood grip guns in .22 LR..... I HATE aluminum and plastic on guns.... Especially Bond Arms. I have the Century 2000 in 3" .410 / .45 Colt, and would love to see that model in .22 L.R.
That looks very good. You should be congratulated on your patience. There was absolutely no reason for that quality mismatch between the buttstock and the forend in the first place. All that would have been required to correct it was a pair of eyes, and a small bit of reasoning. Both appear to...
I'm not selling or donating ANYTHING while I'm still breathing. I didn't spend a lifetime building up a large collection, just so I can sell it off when I finally have the time to enjoy them. That will be someone else's job after I take a dirt nap. If I needed the money I would get from selling...
My wife and I have no family. We never had kids, and I'm an only child. Both of our parents are dead. My wife has one sister who isn't worth the powder it would take to blow her up. We have a few shirt tail cousins who we have nothing to do with.
In short, I have no one to pass my collection...
I'm not ignoring you, anymore than S&W is. You just refuse to accept the fact they have a valid reason for doing what they are. People have been whining about the lock for the last 20 years. They've heard them. They just are not telling anyone why they are keeping it. And because of that, you...
So.... They know it's an issue, but you think they're not being forthcoming about it, or else ignoring it. And you base this on what fact? The fact of the matter is gun companies work with political opponents through lobbyists all the time. Much the same as the NRA does. Unfortunately "Sleeping...
So.... If my logic is so "flawed", let's hear yours. Why do you think they have and keep the locks? If it's not for legal or safety reasons, and it's obviously costing them more money to have them, than it is not to have them. Why then? Do you honestly think they trying to pi$$ off their...
First off, it's not "my logic". And it doesn't matter if you think it's "flawed" or not. It's reality. Are you actually foolish enough to believe S&W is keeping the locks on their guns, so they can pi$$ off their customer base more, and sell fewer guns in the process? S&W doesn't want locks on...
People have to realize that this has nothing to do with who "likes" or "doesn't like" the lock. They, (S&W), did it strictly to help avoid lawsuits and legal repercussions. The lock is a product of the world we now live in.... Not because Smith & Wesson, "no longer cares about their customers"...
Looks like it's more likely to be the "Big One" that changes their whole government around by force. You can't keep losing jobs and companies to other states. While you keep raising taxes, and stealing personal liberties and freedom. They've already got bumper to bumper traffic jams from people...
