I frequently watch Forgotten Firearms and sometimes his offshoot channel Inrange. Lots of interesting history and slowmotion footage of rare and obscure operating systems.
I learned a lot from nutnfancy back when I didn't know much, and I think he has a lot of good theories but I rarely watch...
I'm what you would call the millennial generation and while I do like the new guns, the ccw craze and learning how to shoot guns tactically, none of my guns have optics. Neither of my shooting buddies do either. I only just last month finally bought an AR upper that can mount a scope, but...
I had a college acquaintance that tried to assure me that he could convert his sks to fully automatic and it would be legal. I told him no, and he thankfully didn't actually intend to do so, but insisted to the end of the conversation that it would be ok because he saw it on youtube.
I might have been concerned at one point about toxicity, but personally after I bought a box of gloves for cleaning, I have a lot less concern for such a product. As others have said, even if your gun oil is non toxic the crap your cleaning off is, so you would be wise to wear gloves, have...
Just was shooting some I got from the same deal. Seemed fine to me, but I was wondering if having the staked primers would be reloadable? I don't reload yet but is it worth saving?
Like 1911's many times parts have to be fit to a hi-power but from when I was researching not all clones can interchange parts at all or perhaps with extra fitting. I would either grab one of the rough looking surplus brownings over a clone. Or I would wait for a used commercial model. That can...
Thank you for taking time to explain. But I'm a little confused about your car analogy. Oil for example in a car is circulated which accounts for the usefulness of oil flushing out debris, but how much would that affect a firearm's function? Anecdotadly it seems like both grease and oil attract...
Saw a discussion about grease brands in the handguns section, but I am curious about the wisdom of grease in general. I started using grease on a CZ I had when I read that is what they need, but since then I've pretty much used it to lubricate everything that slides. Handgun rails, Ar-15 bolt...
Don't forget that in the U.S. the common mass murder definition (that the antis use) is 4 or more injured/killed so that right there makes it harder to compare to Australia. The antis often include police shootings and other defensive shootings as well, does Australia? I will follow this thread...
Yeah if you want quick and easy, a bore snake will do it! That's what I generally use anyway.
My problem is after scrubbing the chamber extension, how do I get the crud back out of there?
As others have pointed out, it's not quite as alarming as you might think. They had already been convicted of the DV, but were arguing that because under Maine law a misdemeanor could also include reckless injury, and that reckless is not the same as "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" (as...
Good to see something positive on the times. I was just in NYC and had the chance to attend the pride parade. There was a large amount of anti-gun sentiment, and gays against guns was of course the big group there with all the media attention. Not sure where they came from as I had only been...
That's a tough one, I have a couple but I don't think I've shot them enough. Probably about 1000 rds through my colt commando. I thought my hi-power was doing great till I used it in a match, which I attributed to sand in the mag. I had a cz p07 that I would count because the only malfunctions...
Surprised no-one has yet brought up the other incident that was recently discussed at length. A perfect example of what can also happen when you intervene. Link to article. http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/05/03/marine-killed-trying-intervene-domestic-dispute-texas-walgreens
I could see where...
Also I love the highpower, I think the grip is very comfortable and is much smaller than most double stacks, however it is a different animal being single action. Also the slide is one of the hardest to rack of any handgun I've tried.
You might also try some of the taurus autos, like the millenium/ pt111. Smaller grip for a double stack and easy to reach the trigger and to rack the slide. It's the one my sister chose when she wanted one that was suited for small hands. It is compatible with one of the sig mags so you could...
I know it is a little late since the vote has been made, but they may try again. Even before when it was proposed, my issue was not the denying of sale to suspected terrorists, but the issues with the list in question. If that list were fixed then why should we have a problem?
The dems think...
