I have bitten that apples a few times....
FEG PA 63 pistol, twice. First was in 9x18 Mak. Beautiful, almost unfired pistol. Very James Bond feel to it. But that slide bite and web of the hand pummeling...no thank you.
Then a few years later, I bought another FEG PA 63, though this time...
Hmm...being in a family that didn't have firearms at all, except for my brother in laws, mine started with drawings, then making my own "guns" out of cardboard and scotch tape. Went through a lot of tape...
Later it was caps guns, Super Soakers, lever action bb guns, and on from there.

When I was a kid, my brother in law gave me my first Gun Digest, 1993 Edition. One of the articles was a fantastic write up of, at the time, cheap Chinese imports.
Called the Gang of Four, it went into detail of the four rifles of the article: Pellet rifle, 22. lr rifle, SKS, and the Type 53...

FEG PA 63. I have had two of them through the years, first in 9x18...
Mine came about with the passing of my neighbor's husband. She thought he would have liked it to be owned by myself.
Its a little scuffed up, but that gives it character and a little history.
I have only once brought guns to the relatively local Cabelas to possibly sell, and I shall never do that again.
I had two that at the time I thought I should part with. One was a matching numbers gun and two magazines Bulgarian Makarov pistol plus holster, nearly mint condition.
The other...
Not my story, but was told of it from the neighbor down the road.
According to the story, he and my father, back in the 60's or so, was tearing down a few houses the workers used to be housed in when working the hop yards.
Ripping away the walls in the main room of one of them, they found a...
Well, my brother in law is finicky when it comes to firearms. Purged all his "cheap imports" and filled his safe with the spendy kind some time ago.
To each their own I suppose.
