Every now and then I pull out this beauty from the cold war and admire its simplicity. I've carried it concealed on occasion.
Who carries a Makarov regularly? (Define 'regularly' in any way you wish)
Do you rotate it with other CCW carries?
What ammo for defense?
What carry rig?
Any...
It's funny how over the past 20 years I've gone through phases with respect to concealed carry. Even though your PM9 has fallen out of favor in summer of '15, I wouldn't be surprised to see it make its way back at some point in the future.
Given your situation you described, I'd keep it.
Well, since you said any input, I'll chime in. I have the P11 and I think it's a good pistol. I believe Kel-tec's traditionally seen as more established than the Sccy. I have had 4 Kel-tecs: P11, P3AT, PF-9, and Sub 2000 and I've felt good about all of them. I haven't owned or fired a Sccy.
I'm hoping for an intelligent discussion on the issue of high-powered handguns for self-defense.
Here's my premise: It's been well established that handguns are under-powered as anti personnel weapons. If one were to be forced to knowingly go into harm's way, he would want to carry a long gun...
Well it's clear Therma is looking for a fight, and I know some people enjoy stirring the pot a little and I won't actually begrudge him that too much. Insulting the Garand around here is like insulting the flag. But while everyone else will jump at the opportunity to flame him, I'll say the US...
Actually, I was being more generic than that, but yes that's a fair example I believe. Looking back at your original post I see you were speaking more of accuracy and I suppose it would be good if I had an answer on that but unfortunately I don't. Most of my shooting is not bulls-eye type but...
I have the MK 40 and the PM9. Over the course of several years I've carried a number of different ways. I learned I just couldn't carry the MK in my pocket. Dockers, suit pants, whatever the type of pants... it just didn't work because it was way too heavy. To me, that's a pretty significant...
I've worn many suits while carrying and the results are pretty counter-intuitive. One simply cannot conceal a handgun on his waist while wearing a suit. I learned some time ago that the only real option is pocket carry. I suppose ankle-carry would work but I haven't tried it. Fortunately...
What's involved in legally equipping one's home-defense carbine (or handgun even) with a suppressor? E.g. which gov't hoops, and price; and prices of the suppressors. Plus, how expensive to have the barrels threaded?
Thanks in advance
