    30-30 Model 94

Oh my goodness. I thought those screws were just to hold the blade on. It was all the way down and I can probably raise it 1/8-inch, but it won't need that much. This will work an I will stay with Trailboss. Can't wait to get to the range and zero this thing. Thanks.

    30-30 Model 94

Yes with a pistol, slower is higher. I started out with 7 grains of TB, and the POI got higher with an increase up to the max. Listed charge of 9.0, and it is still lower than POA.

    30-30 Model 94

I have some H322 that I could try down loading a bit. At published loads it's too fast for lead.

    30-30 Model 94

Lot of good reading there, thanks. Some of that mentioned red dot but no maximum charge data or velocity. I traded off my Unique because it is so flakey it gave me erratic charge weights with my setup. I probably won't find any Unique again anyway.

    30-30 Model 94

I am looking for a light recoil load that will shoot on the sights at 50 yards. I have Trailboss, Bullseye, and some 231. I have 170 grain Missouri Whitetail No. 1 lead bullets. 9 grains of Trailboss shoots a couple of inches low with the sights all the way up. That load is listed at 1100...

    Model 12 Bolt Stuck Closed

OK Close this thread. I read on shotgun blog about the bolt release on the bolt. I found that and it worked. I guess the only problem I had was a bunch of crud under the bolt release lever that was keeping it from being pressed all the way in. A good cleaning might be what I need.

    Model 12 Bolt Stuck Closed

I have this old Winchester Model 12 shotgun that I use for some shooting games and it has been remarkably smooth and reliable, until today. After chambering and firing a round, the bolt stuck closed. This happened a few times and I was able to depress the bolt release button and eject with...

What is the first gun you ever puchase or received

Remington No. 6 Rolling Block Rifle .22 short, long, and long rifle passed down from grandfather to father to me. I will give it to my son some day. It has been shot countless times and is very accurate. First gun many family members ever shot. Finish has turned to a brown patina and the...

    CZ 85 9mm feeding

After 3000 rounds with no issues, I had 2 misfeeds in one day. The slide jammed back with a bullet laying loose on top of the magazine, chamber empty. I had to shake the gun around to get that loose bullet out, but then re-chambered and went on. Same ammo, clean gun, etc. Looks like a...

Rifle die setup on Lee 4 hole turret.

The casings are too long for the auto indexing rod to work. I use a little spray lube and don't wipe them off till they are loaded. Just put that seating die down hand-tight with the 0-ring or maybe a quarter turn more. You want it to float just a bit to make sure the bullet goes in real...

    CZ Gunsmith in Louisville, KY

Can you recommend a gunsmith in the Louisville (ST. Matthews hopefully) area that can replace the magazine release button on a CZ 75 Kadet pistol? I have the replacement release button and have broken 2 screwdrivers the screw that holds it in. The screw is still perfect, just the screwdrivers...

    Thompson Auto Ordnance 1911

I bought an auto ordnance receiver at a pawn shop and put a tactical solutions 2211 upper on it. It is my best shooting 22 and that receiver has the best trigger of any of my 1911's. I can't comment on the upper, but the lower is first rate IMO. I do believe that the reason this lower was for...

    Hi Point?

I know people who shoot them. They seem reliable and accurate, heavy and ugly. Uglier than a Glock, if you can imagine that.

High Point A Cheap Unreliable Gun?

I don't own one, but a fellow I shoot with owns a 40 caliber. It is accurate and reliable. Clunky and heavy and ugly, though.

    Custom CZ

Nice job. I am a CZ fan also. You made a great gun even better. Make me one.

    .22 Semi Auto Pistol

The under rated Beretta NEOS - get the 4.5-inch barrel model for a little over $200. I have the 6-inch but like the 4.5 better. Very accurate, reliable, and eats any ammo. You might clean the chamber if you get hold of some dirty ammo, and might have to clean the firing pin hole after 5K...

.22LR conversion vs fixed barrel accuracy

My Tactical Solutions 2211 conversion is just as accurate and reliable as any dedicated pistol, and better than most. I think you are way out in front with a conversion unit over a dedicated 22 pistol that has a different grip frame and trigger. I found a spare 1911 receiver for my unit and...

    22 LR Compensator

OK, I think that sufficiently answers my question. Think I'll just remove it now that it's clean and put the thread cap back on. Thanks to all for the input.

    22 LR Compensator

Definitely lead in the comp. I had to chip it out and it was probably a bullet's weight. I was shooting mostly the copper washed Wal-Mart 36-grain, American Eagle 40-grain lead, and Federal Auto Match 40-grain lead. This was after maybe 500-1000 rounds. I don't think the buildup is a problem...
