my first guns of any kind, I bought both at the same time, two 1851 navies, one full sized traditional blue/case-hardened, the other with a shorter barrel and engraved in stainless, I had known ahead for some time that I wanted an 1851 to be my first, I think Mr. Eastwood might have had something to do with that
-that and my Grandfather has an original that my parents keep in a safe-deposit box at the bank (since they caught me oiling it as a teen long long ago!
).
my first cartridge-firing gun was a S&W 5906, I've poured thousands of rounds through that gun and it just keeps on truckin, I love it, and it was given to me by a great person, so I will never part with it.
First modern-firearm-purchase, was a SW1911, high-polished stainless, ltd edition 1 of 231, gorgeous gun, it was love at first sight, was shopping around while waiting for my license to arrive in the mail
