    Thanks For The Encouragement!

Outstanding! The two basic tenets to remember for new USPSA (NOT IPSC) shooters: You ain't a gonna win your first match, and You're gonna meet a lot of new people, and as long as you stay humble, a bunch of new shootin buddies. Sounds like you stayed humble and are about to reap the rewards...

    Hd .45

Guys--the USP 46 grip is exactly 1/8" bigger than the 9mm/40. I know, I was stunned too because it feels like a horse pistol, but it's not. I have 7 USPs and love them all. The USP 45 is incredibl accurate--right up there with my Mark 23! Dan

    Idpa classifier

I've shot the classifier more times than I can count. I am an MA class shooter and here is the advice I can offer you: Make the head shots on stage 1, even if you have to slow down. Practice shooting in a bam-bam-bam rhythm, with no break between the chest and head. When you can make that...

    Reloads are tumbling

Bigger question--did you reset or re-crimp the bullets in question?

question for you guys will the 45 colt and or 44 mag kill hogs and deer

I hunt during our shotgun season with a Smith .44. Thus far I have never had one make another footstep, they all have died in their tracks. I have taken my 30th deer last year with that gun.

I can't get my brass shiny anymore

Guy, you're using tuffnut. It's a walnut media and won't get the brass and shiny clean as cob. If you're in the Midwest, call a grain elevator and buy a 50 pound sack of it for $5--THEN use the car polish or dryer sheets or mineral spirits or whatever you like. I've used walnut on really...

    Coin test fail

I'm with him. It's still gonna jump due to the strike I'll wager. Unless you're flinching horribly, abysmally the coin doesn't jump, it drops.

    Dry Fire Practice

Oh that's no kidding (say "I'm done"). Thank you for that. It is crucial to define a time for practice and a time for being loaded and to never, ever, on pain of death, violate it for any reason. Do it once and you have an AD. Dan

    Dry Fire Practice

Dry fire is valuable for things other than trigger control. I use a shot timer, set to what I think I can do the skill in--say 1.4 seconds for a concealed draw. When the beep goes off I draw and I have to dry fire in the A zone before the par time beeps. I do reloads too. Hold the pistol...

    Great Customer Service Experiences

By of all people, HK I had a used HK USP 40 that I carried and used in USPSA and IDPA. Well at one match it broke a trigger spring. The darned thing got raspy and then the trigger pull gradually increased, and after the last stage I couldn't safe it. Upon following procedures and checking it I...

I had a what? Mods please help

Y'all are amazing. Thank you so much, it means A LOT. I hadn't thought about the typing being good for dexterity--damn good point. I have been "drawing" and pointing at random objects, making patern s on the floor with my feet, etc. It's hard, but it's working. The typing will too--thank...

I had a what? Mods please help

Not sure where to put it, so please help. I had a stroke last week. I'm young, it was minor. They are predicting a full, but slow recovery. I am getting along with a walker right now and getting stronger every day. So I'll keep reading but typing is just a little beyond my capability right...

New Glock 19 Gen 3 hanging up BADLY

Could you post a pic showing both sides of your grip on the gun? I'm guessing this is it. And no, it's not going to be limp wristing.

    Shooting First IDPA Classifier

As mentioned before--take your time on stage 3. Its not uncommon for scores of -40 on that stage--thats 20 seconds. If you can shoot it well you'll score well. If not you'll score poorly. On stages requiring movement, draw and aim before you move. Move more quickly when reducing the distance...

    Draw or move first?

I've been trained to draw while I move. So I guess that eans move first. Surviving the encounter is your first goal, right? I'm presuing your not drawing on someone with no evidence of iscreant behavior, so he probably already has a weapon. Yes, in that case, DEFINATELY move first.

    Ciener conversion kits....

The last time I called Ciener was he last time I will call Ciener. They literally wanted me to send them $5 to ask a question. We're done. If youre that busy you dont need my money, and adantage arms was more than happy to get it.

    Round count

I have tens of thousands of rounds through my G35 (USPSA Limited) and my G17 (IDPA SSP). I have a USP with more than 70k though it. I was shooting 600+ per week for a while there.

Does it exist?? SA auto hammer down!

Yeah but a 1911 with the hamer down is a paper weight. A USP can be fired DAO, so hammer down safety off carry is doable. Any handgun that is SA/DA is capable.

I was a victim of an armed robbery

One thing to remember? At contact distance up to about 5 feet, you own that gun of his. It can be deflected and taken before he can shoot you--my gosh y kids are trained to do it (with airsoft guns). Thank God youre alive and its hard to argue with your results, but get some disarm training man!
