NIJ armor rateing and shotgun shells

This has been bugging me for a while, I can't find anything that talks about rating armor against shotgun shells. I know there's a lot of variables but there must be some basic idea of what they can and can't penetrate. Also if anyone has any idea where I can find info on the energy (or muzzle...

    5.56/5.45 Interchangeable?

Can you put a 5.56 bullet in a 5.45x 39mm case and get it to work in a 5.45 caliber weapon? it's only a .11 mm difference. that's what? the width of a piece of paper?

    Conceled holster for long arms.

okay, me and my grand father both have a bit of a problem. We have long arms and short waists. While we can use hip holsters they are not comfortable or quick. Drop-leg holsters are what we find most comfortable but people don't like open carry and i hate the mall ninja image that goes with...

I am so sick of the term "high capacity"!

High capacity is dependent on the round and weapon, to me, a 30 round .223 rem. mag is standard.A 30 round 9mm mag in a MP5 is standard. A 30 round 9mm mag in a Sig, high capacity. Personally the point at which the magazine passes a decent size/weight ratio is when it becomes high capacity.

    Biodegradable magazines? A possibility?

Okay, I wasn’t sure where to put this as it doesn’t pertain to any one fire arm type. I was down at the local café today. I have been going there so long that the biodegradable utensils (takes them about six months) are nothing impressive. But I realized something. If you could make disposable...

Calico M951S or Beretta CX4 Storm?

Okay here’s the thing. I’ve been looking at a 9mm carbine for some time and I am down to two options, a Calico M951S or a Beretta CX4 Storm. I was thinking of the H&K UMC but one, its too expensive, two I don’t like H&K (long story), and three I don’t like .45’s especially when I’m looking for...

What ammo would you like to see made?

How about a 400 grain bullet around 7mm in width with a high ballistic coefficient, that travels about 800 meters a second. a heavy, aerodynamic bullet traveling at that speed i would bet would have a lot of energy, accuracy and less barrel wear like seen in the 3,000 feet per second stuff.

Federal HST & Hydra Shock Now LE Only.

ugh am i missing something here? how fast are these things traveling? From the physics lessons I've had the only way hydrostatic shock can happen is with very fast ammunition like rifle speed.

    FN FiveseveN Warning *Picture Heavy*

not saying this may have been a problem, but little things can cause big problems. could the fact they have been fired done something to keep them from loading properly?

    TKB-022P & PM Assault Rifle/Carbine

i was once tolled that the PM used a vertical moving bolt and that a U-shaped grabber extracted and loaded each round, but hats just what i heard. Rumor has it that it actually worked very well but the plastic body couldn't handle cold weather.
