Dionysusigma, you are an evil man. Thanks for posting that. Now I have to dream about that for months before I can raise the money to get one. :(

Everytime there is a manufacturer wish list thread on THR a 10mm carbine always comes up. Unfortunately I don't think there are many options for a 10mm carbine other than the Olympic Arms AR or some of the exotic/custom stuff like the the MP10 clone posted above.

I've heard AO made a few 10mm Thompsons, however they're few and far between.

Other than Oly Arms or something exotic like the RF10 above the only thing I can think of is a Mech Tech CCU, which of course needs a pistol to work.

Is this true?

I was told you could shoot .40 S&W through a 10mm all day with no ill effects? Are the bullets the same with a different case like .38 and the .357 or something  ? I have a friend with a Colt Delta Elite in 10mm and he said it shoots .40S&W just fine....

If this is the case, since I have a Glock 23(.40S&W), I might have to treat my self to a Christmas Carbine in 10mm and have a good compatable Carbine/handgun combo.....

I just better not mix the 10mm and .40cal ammo up in the Glock :uhoh:!!!!

Christ man! For the prices RF is asking, where do they get off asking $125 for a paddle mag release? Wow... But still... One can dream

The only 10mm firearm that should be used to fire both 10mm and .40S&W is the S&W 610 revolver.

You might be able to actually do it with other guns, but the round won't have headspaced properly due to the difference in case length.

But yes, they use the same bullets, since the .40 resulted from the 10mm being too much for some limp wristed FBI agents to handle.

Now you guys did it. Just when I think I am running out of 10's to buy somebudy posts another one!

:D

It would be nice if they would make an adapter to use the glock mags. Those new 29 round mags would be cool. Anyone tried one yet? Any info on how they run?

Have good news

As long as the thread is bumped anyway...

I talked to Vector yesterday and they said they expect to start shipping the carbines possibly in July. They sell the rifles with a barrel extension attached to the end. That way if you want a SBR you can have a gun smith modify the barrel when you get your paperwork approved and pay the tax. Saves the roughly 6 month wait for the gun. They are also selling a pistol version that will not require the tax stamp but will not have a sholder stock.

Enjoy. :D

Got the MechTech here, with glock - for $650-$700 ish, you can have a pistol and a rifle. But it's straight blowback, not a locked breech action of some sort, so this may sacrifice some performance via unburned powder out the bolt before the bullet has exited, though I'm guessing this is fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I went the Oly route using modified 20-round Uzi .41 AE mags and a modified Colt one-piece 9mm mag block. Works fine, but I think if I were going to do this again I'd use the new Cav Arms lower that is designed to work with M3 Greasegun mags.
