Public Service Announcement.....Federal is running their "Black Pack" bulk boxes of .22, along with other ammo right now, and everyone on the .22 seems to have it on sale for like 1600 rounds for $60, and there's a $20 rebate on top of that. Academy Sports has it for $49.99, minus the rebate, and free shipping, making the final price 1.875 cents per round..... We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming....
I got back into shooting a few years ago after a 20 year hiatus. It was during one of the droughts. If you could find ammo it was expensive. Reloading powders were scarce. I learned my lesson, as droughts come and go, and with an anti taking over as governor here in Illinois in January with a veto proof majority in the house and senate things are uncertain. A tax of $.01 per bullet has already been thrown out there, and if passed they could easily increase it. I have over 20,000 rounds of 22 plus around 15,000 bullets along with enough powder to load them and then some. It sounds like alot, but I'll easily go through 500 rounds myself in a range trip. Both of my sons and my oldest son's fiancé shoot and I'll often go with a number of friends with whom I'm happy to share my ammo. It's easy to go through 1000 to 2000 rounds as a group.
