Can a .22 mag cylinder be bought/made for a M-17?

Yes...all you need is a Model 48 cylinder. If you can only find another M-17 cylinder it can also be rechambered to .22 Magnum. I just sold a 70s vintage 17 that I had fitted a M-48 cylinder to...

I've found all my extra cylinders on GunBroker or eBay...

I took the CZ512 out to the range today. Funny how I hadn't really had the chance to shoot it like I wanted to. I shot a couple hundred rounds through it. No failures of any kind. I put a simple scope on top and it sighted in quickly. Its a keeper.

I had a Ruger convertible decades ago for awhile but foolishly traded it off. I also - very foolishly - passed on one of those HK rollerlocked semi auto .22 mag rifles at a gun show about 15 years ago.

This is my first 22 mag rifle. I wanted something that was a semi, although a bolt could have been just fine.

One of the guns I regret parting with was a S&W 648 that I'd had drilled & tapped for a scope mount and fitted with a 2x scope. Momentary lapse of judgment and away it went.

I bought a Marlin 783 about three years ago, pretty cheap because it had a nasty stock. There were holes all over from where it had once been decorated with furniture tacks. There was a really nasty area on the right side of the buttstock too.

I cleaned it up a little and put a Weaver 4 Power scope on it.

Thank you for the posting the topic, bikerdoc!

My .22 WMR firearms in order of their acquisition over a three year period:

1. Henry H001M lever carbine
2. S&W 351 PD
3. Ruger 3-screw Single Six convertible

I'll get a picture posted soon.

I have two Marlin 22 mag rifles, an old 783 I bought around 1983 and a 883 stainless steel I bought about 10 years ago used in a pawnshop in perfect condition for $140 OTD. That was a deal. I have two Ruger single sixes, my granddads gun with the drift adjustable rear sight made in 1961 that he had the newer lockwork put in and a new super single six from about 10 years ago. I really like this round. I stocked up a few years ago and have 5500 rounds on hand.

Most of my 22 mag ammo came from Sportsmans Guide when they had a sale on Armscor 40gr solid and hollow points for $5.65 a box. I bought 4000 rounds. Most don't know it but Armscor loads the 22 mag ammo for Fiocchi. And it has a very good reputation. I like Winchest 40gr loads. Armscor shoots right to the same POA as the winny stuff. 40gr CCI is good stuff too but not loaded as hot and shoots lower at 100 yards.

This is my favorite Marlin 22 mag video. I wish I could find one of these guns in OK condition and cut it down like these guys did. Watch it before the idiots at Youtube decide you will endanger yourself with shooting videos and takes it down.

Love the .22 WMR. My first was a Savage 24 .22 WMR over a 20 gauge. That led to the Single Six convertible that sees more mags than LRs. Sold the Savage a few years back and missed the rifle ... so bought a Ruger 77/22. It's a fun round.
