A .22 rimfire rifle (bullseye-style) match will be held this Sunday, August 1st, starting at noon at the Millstadt Sportsmen's Club, a few miles south of Belleville, Illinois at 4915 Schmidt Lane, Millstadt IL 62260. We've been having these periodically and everyone has a hoot.... so the club decided to bring it back on a regular basis. Ammo is provided by the club (please don't bring any ammo in from outside). Bolts & actions are to remain open when not on the firing line for safety protocols.

Last month saw some great shooters show up... and the competition was excellent! A beanbag rest allows the competitors to make their best shot. After 3 wins, the shooter is retired from competing the rest of the day to give everyone a chance to win -- but the rifle can remain in the match if friends are also using the rifle.

$2 a shot, 16 shooters in a round -- 1 shot per target and the closest shooter to the bull wins half the kitty. Judging is done with the help of a digital microscope, everyone gets to see their shot. Open sights only, peeps / ghost rings / buckhorns (no optics or scopes). If you want to zero your rifle before the match, they shoot CCI Quiets (720fps) at about 35 feet. We'd love to include young shooters in a 14 & under round to introduce them to competition, so if you have sons or daughters who'd like to show off their skills, bring them along! Fire any questions here. Hope to see you there!
