I will hold my opinion till the show airs. I thought Supersize Me (the movie that got Morgan Spurlock his start) - where he ate nothing but McDonald's for 30 days was horrible. They made it sound like he was dying after like 2 weeks. Give me a break! Of course they did at least follow this up by showing a guy who ate Big Macs every day for like 20 years and he was skinny as could be. Good way to contradict your whole message. I still have high hopes for this show though, because I'm an eternal optimist.

Edit: oh yeah, a chick from MA as an anti-gunner. This show is gonna have drama all right. 99% of the females I have met in MA are scared out of their minds at the mere thought of a firearm.

Dope

I'm looking forward to this show. I've watched 30 days many times in the past, and though it does have a heavily liberal slant, the main focus is to eliminate bias based on ignorance. The holder of a bias is immersed with the opposite side to see that they're not really that bad. Since the anti is going to live with a gunnie family, it would seem this episode is geared toward dispelling fear and ignorance about guns.

30 days is a decent show, but super size me was a stretch.it wasn't factually inaccurate, but it scewed the truth.first, anytime you go from a healthy fitness/diet routine to no diet /no exercise you immediately start gaining weight from the greatly increased salt and suger intake.and of course all thoes other negative thing are going to happen.the way he ate was so over the top that it kinda watered down the message.even with the truth on his side,he could not help but to sensationalize.ill watch his shows but will be very skeptical:scrutiny:

I carried a machinegun every day for months at a time, sometimes a carried a few frags too. Heck, everybody around me had a machinegun, some had beltfed machineguns and a few drove trucks with machineguns so big they had to mount them to the trucks. We never shot each other and everybody was well behaved.

Well almost everyone, some of the other people we worked with were constantly shooting rockets and dropping bombs on us. :uhoh:

This is one of the few times I wish I had TV service. Maybe i'll drive out to my parents and watch it on the satellite.

Edit:
Well scratch that plan I checked online and my parents don't have FX with their programming package. I wonder if there's anyways to get this online?

Some of you sound skeptical. The show isn't so much about being liberal or conservative, but rather opening up closed-minded people to a new way of life, new ideas, or values that they resisted before.

I am not saying this is going to be a perfect 2nd amendment pitch, but at very least, it will be interesting to see the arguments the liberal comes up with... and how the family reacts. :scrutiny:

My best friend was shot and killed by a gangbanger last year. Am I pro gun control? no. I'm far from. I own four, on the way to owning all of em, hehe.

I'm not going to let some tragic even run the way I live my life, and she should too.

Based on the previous "30 Days" episodes, I am very hopeful about this. Spurlock tends to portary the unique culture he is observing in a very understanding and respectful manner, and the surrogate families are always model citizens and well educated in their respective areas.

Does anybody know when it airs today?

I suspect that it will be fair and balanced, althought I don't know if they will pick the most eloquent and convincing gunny to represent us.

Although it was probably just a punny quip, the trailer did say "we're going to take everything you know about gun control and blow holes in it."

Since these shows thrive on idiotic bickering and confrontation, I can't see any good coming from this.

I know that many reality shows do act like that, but 30 Days is actually different. Every episode I've watched has been very fair, with the possible exception of the one on homosexuality.

Is this a popular show? I am out of the loop with tv, haven't owned one in around a decade.

I am skeptical, since TV necessarily thrives on drama and making a "scene". But it could be interesting enough to see if I can find a copy of it...

Is this a popular show?

I don't think so...But do you want to know if it is popular or good? More often than not, they aren't correlated.

I think the show is pretty decent though...I have only seen one episode from this season, but I liked it...I'll definitely be watching tonights eppy.
