Anybody out there reload the 327 Fed magnum? If so how easy (or hard) is it to get brass and bullets for this caliber? I'm intrigued by the performance numbers for this caliber compared to the 357. Tell me what you know.

Yes I load for the 327 Fed Mag. It is no different than loading say a 357 Mag.

If I told you everything, then you would know as much as I do and I did all the work:D

What exactly do you want to know?

You can shoot any 32 cal bullet.(Not 32 ACP bullets) lead or jacketed up to around 115 gr.

Lyman Cast has a lot of lead data. New Hornady has data.

I like Power Pistol over H110 or 2400 for the Gold Dots or XTPs

I also load the 327 along with 32h&r mag and 32s&w long which you can use in a revolver chambered in this caliber. For the most part I've used brass saved from factory ammo. My LGS keeps this in stock and has it every time I've been for the past two years. You won't find it however at academy or WalMart.

In the 327 I use hp-38 for light to med loads. I used h-110 for magnum loads. I ran out a few months ago and couldn't find the 110 so now use Ramshot Enforcer. I've had great results with both.

Right now my fav load is mbc's 120 grain cast bullet for 32-20 over a stiff charge of enforcer. This load isn't in any manual I own so I'm not going to go into any specifics.

Give it a try, its a very versatile cartridge. I enjoy loading it.

I have worked up loads in a few 32 S&W Long revolvers.

I have worked up loads in a few 38 S&W Special revolvers.

The 32 can go from wimpy with unburned powder to stuck case in 1 gr increase in charge. It is very sensitive to small powder charge changes.

The 38 is much less sensitive.

CAUTION: The following post includes loading data beyond currently published maximums for this cartridge. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither the writer, The High Road, nor the staff of THR assume any liability for any damage or injury resulting from use of this information.

From my range report 2-2-2012 about a 106 year old Colt with a newly welded up forcing cone.
Colt New Police 32 S&W Long mfg 1907, 1.3X Bushnell Phantom Magnum scope
27 ounces + ammo as tested
At 50 feet 4.2" 6 shot group [ 2.2" for the last 5 shots]
85 gr Hornady .312" JHP, 1.3" OAL, upside down 308 Lee rifle factory crimp, 14 gr LIL'GUN

14 gr.: 1285, 1341, 1413, 1275 fps

14 gr Quickload predicts 7.3" barrel 1700 fps 29kpsi

another flaming muzzle fireball error for an overloaded straight wall cartridge.

Thought this was 327 Fed Mag?;)

I can get 1300 fps out of a 2" SW 632 Pro with a 95 gr LFN, also with the 85 gr GD. The 100 and 115 gr are not far behind.

The factory load that screams is the American Eagle 100 gr JSP which approaches 1400 fps out of the snubby..

The Speer GD 115 gr bullet is next to impossible to find. Not sure if they even sell it anymore as a component. It was around 1289 fps average.

I cast Ideal 3118 (new number is 311008) for 327, I load it over a healthy charge of AA#7 or Blue Dot and shoot it in a 4" Charter Arms and a 2" Taurus. I buy American Eagle 85 or 100 gr. factory and shoot them out to get my cases. I really like the cartridge, but then I learned to cast and load 32-20 back in 1956 and this is just an updated version. Good guns, great cartridge and easy to make great!!!
Scheels in Great Falls Montana had 22 boxes of the AE 100 grain last week.

Mmc I'd be interested hearing your blue dot load. I've wanted to try some in it but haven't settled on a starting point.
