.327 Federal Magnum...RIP?

Probably just a prank reply. I have a new 32 H&R revolver waiting for pick up and the only brass I've found is new Starline. No once fired or any other manufacturer. Found some 32 Long, once fired brass, IIRC 50 for $35.00. Just checked 5 vendors this morning for 32 H&R ammo; "Out of stock". Saw some 32 Long wadcutter ammo for $40.00-$50.00 but after I found Acme 100 gr RNFP I decided to pass. Hornady XTP in 32 available. Wonder what "News" he was talking about?
Prank? Three years of the COVID pandemic, rampant supply issues and years-long shortages of ammo and components. This time last year the local gun shop had three boxes of ammo. THREE! Friggin' primers now cost three or four times what they did 5yrs ago, if you can get them.

What I find so very amusing is the concurrent, parallel thread in which the main point is how so very close we are to being, “back to normal.” Except for some slightly higher prices, which is of course normal.

Well…Henry is making their rifles in them…and as committed as Ruger is to the caliber (11 handgun versions currently in production) I’m betting Marlin will roll that flavor eventually.

I’m sitting on 1K new Starline brass and have close to that in current rotation. Even prior to Covid when .327FM was ‘somewhat’ available I refused to pay the elevated asking prices.

Been hand loading it since I picked up the .327FM GP100 some years back.

Since Marlin IS Ruger now, I do not doubt that once they get the brand reestablished, there will be a 327 repeater in their lineup. I'd guess we're probably a couple years out though. They are going slow. They chopped production completely, and have slowly been bringing them back under their process controls with the Ruger armory mark on them. The Ruger made 45-70 I handled was gorgeous, very very well made...much much better than the Remington "sh1tty years" of Marlin. According to some of their press releases and comments made at shows and conventions, once they have brought back the most popular repeaters, they will begin developement on new products and calibers under that brand. Until then Henry is it AFAIK.

Actually Prank was substituted for "Snarky". I was just trying to be polite. And what do the conditions you mention have to do with caliber popularity? 38 Special ammo and components are difficult to find now too, does that mean the 38 Special is dying?..

It wasn't snarky, I was stating the obvious. Has nothing to do with popularity and everything to do with availability of ammo and components. Read the OP, the 327 was deemed "dead" because he can't find brass. Is the .38 dead too?
