350 legend or 300 blk out for up to 100 yard deer hunting in brushy areas out of an ar platform? I do not own a suppressor so subsonic capability is not really a concern.

The fact that I can send up to a 180 grain .357/ .356 caliber supersonic of course down range is not a bad thing here mine is partial to my handload with the 165 FTX but ymmv the blackout wasn’t designed as a hunting cartridge the Legend was it’s that simple 😃

350L would be my choice if not suppressed and hunting Deer.
I shoot 300BLK, but only under 100yd and only at pigs. I don't get full pass through on 100lb pigs and shoulder shots with supers. I just want more power than 300BLK for game animals personally.

There is every reason to go 350 Legend here and absolutely none to go 300 BLK.

Maybe 300 BLK if in the future you thought you might go suppressed but that is it.

350 Legend without a second thought. I live in a state that doesn't require straightwall and I still use mine. It's been very effective and easily "hunting" accurate. My rifle like the 170SP Hornady with Lil Gun powder.

Flip a coin. 350L will have more horsepower, but really, if you can't get it done with a 300BLK, you're not getting it done with a 350L either. 30cal offers more versatility and broader options for bullet choice, but sacrifices some power. 350L offers more horsepower, but is more limited on availability and variety of components.

I gotta disagree with the "if you can't get it done with the 300BLK you can't get it done with the 350L. To me at any range the 350L is effective at I'd never choose the 300BLK over it. A .35 cal 150-180gr bullet at the same speed as a .30cal 125 or even a lighter 110 all copper at the same speed. I'll take the bigger diameter heavier bullet everytime.

My state has no restriction on not using the 300blk or 350L and most ofnour deer processors around me (3 or 4) have had praise on the 350L for it effectiveness on deer for new or smaller hunters. They had no such praise for the 300BLK.

have you actually looked at everything available for 350L? except for a couple of fmj plinking offerings everything from a 140 gr monolithic up to some 200 grain hardcast a designed for it as hunting rounds, none below 1600 ftlbs of muzzle energy and a few tapping on 2000 ftlbs door, in copper monolithic, ballistic tips,, interlocks, partitions , hollow points, JSP...etc the 300BLK has a much narrower list of bullets that it can get up to expansion speed in 30 caliber bullets, the 300BLK doesn't even belong in the same conversation of hunting ability as the 350L

There are probably well over 100 different bullets that will get to expansion velocity just fine in a 16” 300 blackout. They are both workable options. No shortage of options in 350 legend too.

I bought a 350 legend a couple of years ago for deer hunting in New York.
I love it.
I keep all my shots under a hundred yards.

The advantage for the .350 is the states that require a straight-walled cartridge. Beyond that, either can do the job effectively...within their wheel-house.

Have both, either one will work just fine.

350 Legend was developed for States requiring straight walled cartridges

Have a couple .350L for Iowa deer hunting. Very effective hunting round within the range you are talking about. I would take the .350 over the Blackout.

I’m at a loss as to what you could possibly be referencing. This thread has been remarkably close to topic for the OP’s question.

Maybe you didn’t read the thread before you posted?
Read posts #18 and #19...you'll hopefully get an understanding of what I meant.
