My style of reloading tends to eliminate the chance of a double load. Once the cases are prepped and the mouth belled, they sit in the tray. As I charge each case it goes immediately to the press to seat the bullet. Of course, I'm not in a hurry when reloading so don't mind taking the slight extra time. Never had a double charge in making thousands of reloads doing it this way. That lets me use any powder I prefer.

I powder load and put a bullet on top to the same effect. Just makes more sense to me.

For soft shooting loads, Trailboss or Clays. Mid-range loads, BE86. Full throttle loads in short barrels, H110 or 2400. Full throttle loads in long barrels, 300MP.

I wouldn't shoot much 357 without 2400. Its right at home in the 1,200 - 1,300 fps loads for 158s. I favor Lil Gun for heavier bullets but for a general purpose 357 powder 2400 has always worked for me. It has the added benefit of not eroding forcing cones to the extent of the high nitro stuff and has proved to be temperature stable in my where I shoot.
