.45 LSWC stove-piping

I'm loading a 190 gr lswc over 4.5 gr of Bullseye. The bullets are cast from a H&G mold. I'm not worrying about the OAL until I have the headspace set correctly. I set bullet well below the barrel shroud and was having trouble with some of the rounds stove-piping. The bullet is stove-piping and not the case. These rounds ended up with an OAL of 1.123". I loaded up a few more and they are almost flush with the shroud with an OAL of 1.146". I let the bullet out by .023" and they're still stove-piping. There is little or no room left before the bullet is in into the lands which wouldn't be good. I'm shooting these out of a series 70 Combat Commander. I've shot over a 1000 200 gr lswc and had no problems after I got the load right and it seems to be shooting other ammo fine. I don't have any store bought ammo to run through the pistol, and good luck trying to find some around here. So before I start looking at something being wrong with the pistol I thought I'd put this up on the forum and maybe somebody might have some suggestions from a reloading perspective. Every problem I ever had with a LSWC was because it was to long, I now load them to about a thumb nail thickness of lead above the case and the run like a champ. Don't even bother to check lenght just diameter

Do all magazines produce stove pipes? Try this COL.

A stove-pipe means a empty case or a loaded round fails to eject or feed, and gets caught by the slide standing straight up like a stove pipe.

If that happens with loaded rounds?
Your magazine feed lips are goofy and releasing the rounds too soon.

But you don't set headspace with bullet seating depth.
Headspace is determined by the case length.

I would seat a H&G 200 to a thumbnails width of the front driving band sticking out of the case mouth, crimp to .470", and choot'm.

if that won't feed?
You have a gun or magazine problem with SWC bullets.

The loaded round is stove-piping. I got the durn bullets too long. Ill do the way you guys have suggested with the front drive band about a fingernail width above the case mouth. I bet it works. Thanks
