I'm loading a 190 gr lswc over 4.5 gr of Bullseye. The bullets are cast from a H&G mold. I'm not worrying about the OAL until I have the headspace set correctly. I set bullet well below the barrel shroud and was having trouble with some of the rounds stove-piping. The bullet is stove-piping and not the case. These rounds ended up with an OAL of 1.123". I loaded up a few more and they are almost flush with the shroud with an OAL of 1.146". I let the bullet out by .023" and they're still stove-piping. There is little or no room left before the bullet is in into the lands which wouldn't be good. I'm shooting these out of a series 70 Combat Commander. I've shot over a 1000 200 gr lswc and had no problems after I got the load right and it seems to be shooting other ammo fine. I don't have any store bought ammo to run through the pistol, and good luck trying to find some around here. So before I start looking at something being wrong with the pistol I thought I'd put this up on the forum and maybe somebody might have some suggestions from a reloading perspective. Thanks as always for the sound advice.
