My opinion is colored by their experiences, and the fact the Law Enforcement is an extension of Government in NJ which is an absolute corrupt nightmare on multiple levels.

HR, I can appreciate that. I don't live there so I'll defer to you on that, I'm sure your opinion is for good reason. ;)

If I might add something, every once in a while someone on a forum makes a comment about cops which usually draws a sharp response from a fellow member who works in LE or some other defender. The fact is that most cops do support the 2nd Amd. but not all. It gets real bad among the upper management in big city departments where the chiefs are more politician than cop or are just plain anti-gun (for civilians, I don't see them giving theirs away). I think we need to remember that cops are people like everyone else, meaning there are great ones, good ones, average ones and a few bad ones. I think it safe to say that when you see a published story where a cop is denouncing guns and gun owners we can quickly figure out where that particular person stands and any comments about him should not be inferred to include all cops.

As noted, the police reflect the government of their city and state. Cops in Chicago, IL are going to be much more anti-gun than those in Bozeman, MT either because they grew up in an anti-gun environment and think that's the way things should be or because their bosses make it clear that's the way things are.

I am second to none in my appreciation for LEOs. But, when one is undermining my civil liberties he doesn't get a pass just because he's a cop. In fact, he should know better since he has sworn to uphold the Constitution and our right to keep and bear arms is a part of that contract. But I will make sure my criticism is limited to the offending officer or chief and not splattered all over all cops.

How much powder??

10-3.7 Smokeless propellants intended for personal use in quantities not exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) may be stored in original containers in residences. Quantities exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) but not exceeding 50 lb (22.7 kg), may be stored in residences if kept in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1-inch (25.4 mm) nominal thickness. OR :cuss: 13-3.7 Smokeless propellants intended for personal use in quantities not exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg) shall be permitted to be stored in original containers in residences. Quantities exceeding 20 lb (9.1 kg), but not exceeding 50 lb (22.7 kg), shall be permitted to be stored in residences where kept in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1 in. (25.4 mm) nominal thickness. Take your pick. That's enough to make my neighbors skeered, but what they don't realise/know won't hurt them. The guy needs to be left alone if he isn't bothering anyone, he paid his dues-let it end you sorry do-gooders.

It looks pretty clear cut to me. He was not allowed to own guns and he did. He broke the law, what is the argument about? I think some fellons should have their rights retored but some shouldn't. That is why we have laws. Some people should not have guns. Violent criminals, crazy people and people that are addicted to drugs should probably not have guns until they can sort their lives out a little bit.

This seems like common sense to me but then I remember that owning guns is not a priviledge it is a right given to us by the Consitution. Maybe we should just deal with some people having guns that we don't feel comfortable with? I don't know, it is hard to decide but I tend to lean on giving people more rights and taking the "risk" for what happens.

Also, since abortions are no longer illegal, I think that fellony should be removed from his record.

I guess they don't teach about the founding principles anymore in public schools. Rights aren't "given to us by the Constitution." To begin making up for how you were failed by the Public School system, I suggest you start by reading the Declaration of Independence. No doubt that was never assigned to you in school, or you'd know better.

Dude, what kind of response is that to the man? C'mon now.

You know, I could have sworn I logged on to The High Road.

Done, and done.
