I'm told this 6.5 ELD-X 143gr out performs the A-MAX and 140gr Berger match. That it was Hornady's fix for the A-MAX heat problem at or near the 1,000yd mark. That it is at least as accurate and is a hunting round. That it is the most sought after bullet for the 6.5 Creedmoor. I don't think I've seen discussion here and would like to hear form you folks. Thanks.

Hornady actually made 2 new bullets with this tip... the eld match and the eld-x... the match is a 140gr and the x is a 143gr. The x is considered a hunting bullet.

The Eld-x is just the SST with a different tip.

I've shot both out to 1200 yards through my creedmoor. They both hit but the more accurate round was definitely the 140. Their BCs are so close that for match shooting I would go with the 140. For hunting I would definitely use the 143.

Thanks guys. Always great info. I want the best target I can shoot. I should have asked you folks -v- trust the counter guy. Now I wonder what I'm going to exchange 500 of these for?

Keep the ELD-x. It's a much better bullet than the amax. However, if you can get your hands on the 140 ELD, that bullet seems to shoot better for me.
