I believe the pistol is an Armscor/RIA product due to the "M1911-A1 FS" marking on the right side of the frame forward of the slide stop pin and the seven-digit serial number; Tisas uses different markings. The bottom of the right-side safety lever is also shaped very differently between the two guns.

More directly, a photo of the Taylor at PSA versus a photo of a RIA at PSA.

I've got a Rock Island A1 FS Tactical in .45 ACP. It looks just like the pic. It's an awesome gun that handles anything you put in it. I got rid of the ACT mag and the grips.

I got rid of the ACT mag
I've had very good luck with ACT Mags. They are made in Italy by former employees of Mecgar. The original 1911 ACT Mags imported into the US were branded Novak; they also supplied 1911 mags for S&W.

I also have had good luck with ACT Mag magazines for my SIG 220 and 320. The mags for the SIG 320 are branded Armscor

I personally don't like them because I don't like bumper mags but I have read stories of them splitting. Whether that's true or not I don't know and won't use one to find out.

some of the bumbers are pads thats bolted to the bottom vent holes, so if it broke, it would not affect reliability.

Pardon my ignorance and curiosity, but what disqualifies them from being CA compliant? I thought 10 round mags made them compliant.

Guns aren't generally California compliant.
To be sold in California, a pistol must be specifically listed by make, model, and caliber on the Roster. The manufacturer or importer having paid a bribe, uh, testing fee, and provided guns, three, I think, to be destructively tested.
I understand that to be added to the Roster now also requires a pistol have a chamber loaded indicator and a magazine disconnect. Neither of which anybody is likely to scab onto a 1911, least so at the entry level.

I have dropped a bunch of magazines over the years and not broken a plastic floor plate yet.
I have popped the welds on a couple of all metal clips, though; using early 10x38 Super for 10x9mm.

Yup,Taylor & Company 1911s are manufacture by Armscor.

Good price for an entry level 9mm 1911
Yes, and these are easily converted to .45 ACP. The frame accepts .45 parts. I used one of these 9 mm guns to make one of my WW2 clones.

Here's the finished product (the WW2 clone):

Here's the RIA box it originally came in:

And here are the RIA / 9 mm parts that had to be replaced to make the clone:

Reminds me of the guy here who put an Argentine .45 upper on a .38 Super lower in aid of ammo standardization.
Well, when original WW2 guns in nice condition are going for north of $2,000, it makes sense to build a clone on a Filipino frame. Of course it helped that I had replacement slides, etc., in my parts box.

(The other route would be to upgrade a Thompson / Kahr. At least those slides are usable, even though they use the Series 80 firing pin safety.)

Loving your WWII clone guy. Plus with all the parts left over you are well on your way to another!

Just sucks that between shipping, taxes & FFL fee's add like $100 bucks onto that l dont get me wrong its still a deal especially if you were already in market for one cause your going to be paying those regardless unless your shopping local. Wish I was in a Tax free state.

The struggle is real. My local dealer has a 9mm Tisas for $359 but only in a GI model. Buy it and immediately start buying parts, or buy this gun and pay shipping, $45 or more for transfer etc. Is it so wrong for me to want a tricked out 1911 for $300 :D
