I've been loading 9mm for a while now and I'm currently loading RMR 124gr MatchWinners loaded to 1.114" OAL over 3.6grs of Alliant E3 for my SIG P320 (3.9") and S&W M&P9 (4.5")...to make 130PF (~1050fps)

I was playing with a Ruger PC Carbine (16") and need to make 135PF.

The issue I'm having is that in order to pass the plunk test, I need to reduce OAL to 1.08"...the 135gr and 147gr need to be seated to the same OAL...and I'm not consistently getting over 1000fps. For a recent match, I had to resorted to some Xtreme 135gr plated bullets which I could load to 1.117" over 3.7grs of E3 (a little hot at > 1150fps)

I'm thinking of trying a slower powder and wondered if folks had any recommendations. I'll also be loading for a Lead Star and SIG MPX, both with 16" barrels, with a friend...his carbines need to be loaded to 1.130" OAL to feed reliably

I have BE-86, N320, WW 231, and Sport Pistol on hand

TIA

I like WSF.
It shoots well for me with the RMR 124gr MPRs.
I am only aiming for 125 PF so 4.4-4.5gr gives me 1030 ish out of a 5" 1911.
127-128PF
Looking at my chart E3 is pretty quick burn speed wise.
If N320 would give you the vel you need it would be my first choice of your 4.
Haven't done a lot with Sport Pistol but initial loads with a 124 MPR seemed promising.
Alliant has +P data for Sport pistol

Sport Pistol, N320 and W231 still may be a bit to fast, but it depends on how much you pickup from the longer barrel.
I would think BE86 should get you to PF with room to spare.

Very mixed range brass using a RMR 124 RN showing diff between 1.09 and 1.13

I have some WST way in the back of my cabinet...I'll bet I can trade it to a shooting buddy for some WSF.

I was loading 4.3grs of 231 for my 3.9" SIG 320 to make PF and it was making the higher PF out the carbine barrel...but it tended to be dirty (aside from being temp sensitive). Some guys were loading 147gr bullets over Titegroup for their handguns and had to bump their load up quite a bit to make PF

My N-320/124 Gr "plinker" load that makes 1050ish FPS from a 5" 1911 doesn't gain any speed in a 16" barrel. My WSF, True Blue, N340, AA #5 HS-6 etc 9MM/124 Gr loads gain an extra 150/200/sometimes a little more FPS in a 16" barrel.

I'll look up some numbers

WST is a great 9mm powder. Lots of people over at Brian Enos use it. I've loaded a bunch of it up. Works like a champ.
