Holy crap! I haven't been active much in the past month, haven't felt like reading / reloading etc. Glad to see you are (somewhat) ok now. Looks like it might have stung a bit

Dude, glad your ok, that looks like it hurt bad.

Really glad I picked the RCBS with strip priming for my first progressive. All these years of single stage, I never liked the primer tubes, but I bought the RCBS because I got a great deal, not for the safety aspect. Now I'm convinced I did the right thing.

One can never be too careful when reloading or shooting. Mr. Murphy will show up when you least expect him no matter how tight you "lock the door"
I've seated primers with my Dillon SD and SDB both sideways and upside down. But I was much more fortunate than you. I will wear safety glasses 100% from now on thanks to your accident. Thanks for sharing the incident with us.
Hope you recover soon!

Blarby, I'm not going to read all 6 pages of replies. I wish you a full and speedy recovery and no long term issues.

If this has done anything for us it's two messages that come through loud and clear.

First of is that too many treat primers as too inert. And as you sadly found this is not the case. I know for sure that I'm guilty of this after having totally crushed a few into primer pockets. When you see that occur without setting them off it certainly makes us think that they are not as big a deal as some might say. But obviously this sort of complacency is not a good thing. Your story and another I read about recently tells me that I need to treat primers with a lot more respect and care.

And of course the second point is the one you make about equipment. When handling flammable powders and primers we all need to learn to fix or replace stuff when it begins to show signs of failure. Not when they've totally broken down.

It's small solace to your hand but your thread is certainly making a lot of us think harder about how our stuff is and how we work on it. Thanks for that.
