Let's try this again. I recently started a discussion comparing the 590A1 to the A300 Ultima Patrol for an upcoming Gunsite shotgun course.
So, yeah, I'm definitely going to go with an autoloader. The A300 is just fine for my needs, and the 1301 is over kill. However. Because the A300, like most atoloading shotguns puts the recoil mechanism in the stock, you can't really change stocks. Now, I don't care about a traditional curved pistol grip vs an AR style pistol grip, but...the A300 only has a traditional hunting style sling mount on the bottom of the stock, which means it won't work well with a modern tactical 2 point sling. (Kinda like putting said sling on an old school AR15A2.)
So my next point of contention is thus: is worth the extra $700 (plus the cost of an aftermarket stock) to address that issue?
