Today at a Local Pawn Shop I saw an "EVIL" black gun that I need help identifing to see if its worth buying (lay-a-way) style..

All it said was Mossberg 12 guage.. It had a 14 or 16 inch barrel (could have been 18 but for SURE less than 20) and a pistol grip on the front and just looked evil and menacing.. I am wondering if someone tricked out a mossburg or if it was sold like this the stock was more something that would be seen on an assault rifle..(reminds me a lot of a neostead stock.. and had a finger hole to release the pump action for the pistol grip...

Also had sights and carry handle on top of the heatshield...

If my discription makes anysense could someone tell me if this was a model made by mossburg or something that was tricked out? It looked menacing and evil thus I want it.. but it was like $300 so.. a little steep for my budget (or lack of)

thanks?

The Bullpup has an 18&1/2 inch barrel (seems shorter because of the bullpup style) and its working mechanizim is basically the same as a model 500 - just mounted in the bullpup stock.
They were produced starting in 1986 and discontinued in 1990. Therefore a fairly short run . I think they may have been made with and without the forward pistol grip . As far as value I am not sure but I would expect to pay more than a standard Mossberg 500 price and about $300 sounds sort of right .

JJ: Yes, the previous posters are correct in that it is the Mossberg 500 action nestled in the Bullpup stock. These are basically....are you ready for this?......junk! I had one years ago when I had an FFL and was glad to get rid of it. The trigger works with a long rod and roller on the regular trigger, and there is a safety that had to be depressed on the rear pistol grip if I remember right. All of it working together made a rather cumbersome and slow firing of the shotgun. Yeah, they look evil and "tactical" but I would never actually buy one again. Of course, my advice is worth only what you paid for it, so you may decide otherwise. Good luck.

:D

Thanks for all the replies everyone.. decided agianst it becasue.. simply the grip saftey on a shotgun would have been too odd, if that sounds right. I mean heck on my pistols yeah, but on a shoty... naw. Besides the condition wasn't be best so I figure I can get something better, one day, and it won't just be something that looks wicked.
