Ammoman now only selling Lake City M855 .223 green tip ammo to Law Enforcement Only?

Doesn't Winchester manufacture a load that is designed only for law-enforcement? Something with the way the bullet expands like a flower/talon upon impact that causes sharp edges?

Are they saying public citizens don't have a right to ammo that is potentially more lethal to a perp?

What kind of sense does that make?

Ranger T-Series and the old Ranger SXT still have the claws like the Black Talon.

It is more from a court settlement from a Black Talon shooting than Winchester does not want citizens to buy their ammo. You will find a handfull of Winchester Ranger dealers like me who sale it in the open market.

Ammoman's prices are double and triple what I pay elsewhere. If I had to guess he is now selling only to the government as they are the only ones who can afford his prices.

There is a 5 page thread at ARFCOM about this. Here is a link to page two
and it should clear up your questions about what is happening. Buy it and
he will sell it to you if you want it. Be warned that the ARFCOM people do
not like AMMOMAN. Hope this helps.

I still don't understand why they hate ammoman so much. It's an inexpensive, reliable source for ammunition. The things on there about him being a scammer and crook are pure BS. They act like he should be sending them top-notch .00001 MOA shooting ammunition packaged in handcarved wooden boxes lined with satin for "what they pay". It also seems to be based on one or two bad incidents. All I can say is that I and my shooting friends have ordered from him many a time with not a single problem.

For the green tip, or all ammo? If it's for all ammo, you must share your source(s) with us.

They do not like that he was selling Vietnam bring home sks rifle for several hundred bucks. When the buyer received it there were imports stamps from Century Arms if I remember right.

He refused to refund the money and Lawyered up. There is no room for error since the guns were stamped by the importer.

Marketing.

"Forbidden Fruit" and all that nonsense. I'm sure it helps drive the prices up.

And he is just the kind of guy to do that sort of thing.

Those in the know don't like him because he blatantly ripped someone off, and was unapologetic about it.

I stopped buying from him.

ATK has asked the dealers to sale certain items to LE only due to availability. It has nothing to do with the ammo, there just is not enough to go around right now.

Some people are oblivious to the shortage. I see guys post stupid stuff like my local gun shop has shelves full of ammo. There is no shortage, it is just the money hungry dealers try to rob us.

Unless your local Bait and Gunshop has some five acre warehouses stacked to the rafters with ammo it is insignificant. Goody for you that your area has ammo today. Who knows what will happen tomorrow.
