Another New Cap&Ball Bullet

well, I never was one to sit on protocol.
That's a luxury for people with no sense of humor or at least a very cramped up view of it.

Ram lock isn't much better... (at that level)

Ram it home for a perfect Lock...\

By the way, that's an interesting equivocation you pulled there yourself.

I was thinking about this during lunch today. I mean, I like ramlock and all, it does somewhat explain the concept - of a percussion revolver design. A round ball rammed in the cylinder of a normal Colt/Remington design shaves off lead and "locks" in. So although it does work, and it is descriptive, it really isn't anything distinctive for the bullet design. And it is a distinctive bullet design.

Not that there's any harm in using it as a name, just more of an abstract thought.

I can use any text or pictures that the product may require - these are just ideas for now.

Manyirons; what is the decided name, and what logo would you like?

Okay, I've come up with the perfect logo, name, and package design!

Don't worry about paying me, this one's for free. :D

Thomas' Logo

Manyirons, My son Thomas gave it the old college try! Notice how the ram's horn and the letter "R" intermingle, and he also made the letters and image look 3-D. I'm very proud of his fine effort! :D

Basic Artwork

This is the idea I was trying to get over. Although the font might not be quite right, I think the actual image says the trade mark.
Needs some work but time is running out so here it is.

I Tend to Agree

Duncaninfrance, Good job Duncaninfrance! I did mention this idea of 2 ram's heads butting, or 2 rams butting heads in a previous post here:

http://thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=2397566&postcount=242

And I also translated this idea to Thomas to try to work into his art, but as the artist, he composed the actual art that he felt the most comfortable drawing. I probably would prefer 2 ram's head's actually butting (close up) than what Thomas drew. I also mentioned ram silhouettes butting to him, but as already mentioned......
But either way, any artwork would probably require some more professional polishing in order to be put into final print form, and I think the whole concept of doing any artwork at all was to show the overall potential viability of the name "RamLock" with any number of possible final art designs and print schemes. And I think that has largely been successfully illustrated so far.
Thomas drew a one shot deal drawing in his spare time. He may be able to do another drawing if Manyirons really doesn't want a professional graphics person to complete the conceptual artwork. But I got the distict impression that the contest was about "naming" the bullet, more than it was about producing a finished logo that was print ready:

http://thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=2345297&postcount=21

For a relatively small hourly investment with a graphic designer, specialty print shop or an amateur artist with some computer skills, a quality, professional styled copy can be produced with the ideas that have been presented. More experienced talent may be what's needed more than simply some extra time. :D
