Another New Cap&Ball Bullet

Mec, that's where I was heading when I have a few more "tools" available. I also want to "age" the label a bit like the other one was. But I like the main idea.

I think the text looks better like this - more "Old West".

Wowing Us!

Boy! Unless somebody comes up with somethin REAL thunder&lightnin in tha next few, we gonna have a winner and some also rans! (Who get somethin too!)

A HIT!

I think it's almost there although I dont think either font is quite right and how about the same layout but with 2 Rams butting, just to see how it looks?! I think we need an either/or.

Two Words?

Sorry, I really don't prefer the name RamLock to be broken in half by the ram's head. Also, I do prefer the word "Lock" to "Lok" or "Loc", because the word leaves no doubt about it's pronunciation or meaning, and to not borrow to much from Millet AngleLoc Rings (or is it Lok?). But I realize that's just my 2 cents. I liken the term more to "Nimrod" which is one singular word and name.
I don't want to appear to be unnecessarily critical, but it could make a difference and someone needs to raise awareness about the issue. It might reflect on a level of professionalism if the wrong choice is made. Not that any choice could be wrong, but one way or another potentially could be. :scrutiny:

arcticap, I too thought that "Ring Lok" looked strange, but I had thought that was the decided product name. Here's what it looks like as "RamLock".

Duncan, I like this ram as is, and the only reason I made this is because I found a font that I thought was very "Old West" and thought of this thread. ;)
If I do find a picture of rams butting heads that I think will look good, I'll make one up.

EDIT: Ducan, I found something suitable.

just to keep you guys straight,

there was also RingLock, Ring Lock and any other formulations that could be used by it.

As a matter of fact, I told Iron's privately that he would have to copyright any and all variations and he will have to do so with Ram Lock and Ramlok and whatever you can combine.

You guys are gettin a little aesthetic now.

It probably won't matter to the average nimrod... if the ram's head is in the middle separating the two words or not.

Since yer getting into technicalities now, RamLock isn't a word either.

I mean it looks fine, I don't care.
If I was at the store and I bought a package, I would not going to base my expenditure on the ram's head being too high or being in the middle between two words...

I really suggested Ringlok to avoid this sort of thing.
Most people seem to run for the techie stuff these days.
Think about Triple 7, and go look at Lyman's bullet mold page and you'll find all these high tech lookin black powder bullets in there. That's what the trend is.
The nimrods, arcticap, don't really care I don't think. Just so the package attracts their eye, it'll be okay, I promise.

Melting Pot of Ideas?

Umm - RamLock as one word is better I think. ( It would also work better in search engines perhaps, I don't know ) As for the logo I was meaning that an image of 2 rams actually locking horns might look good but until you actually try it you don't know, it might be OTT.
As for copyright, well that sits with the originator unless signed over by them. Registering it as a Trade Mark is the point I would have thought but your rules in the States might be different to this side of the pond.
I am sure that 'The Kraut' and Manyirons are more than happy with all your input.

BANG! WAR - I must write me memoir's " So I said to Monty.........."

Fonts

I understand the idea for the old west fonts, but most of the boxes of combustable cartridge were made in the East! Colt sold tons of them, many using Hazard's powder, (from Hazardville, about two miles from where I am sitting).

Personally, I think the average Joe will buy based on a picture of the bullet. Whenever I leaf through a catalog, or an online one, it is a picture of the bullet and not the box I look at. If the intended target here is mainly mail order, or internet sales, then the packaging is more fun than anything else.

jaxenro, no kidding! I'm in Enfield, right next to the college - I go down Hazard Avenue all the time.

Hey Third_rail, I went to that college when it was a middle school. I am in Enfield on Phoenix ave, grew up locally. Small world, huh.

And where do you buy blackpowder around here!

RamLock (ram's head) Bullets

Third_Rail , Your doing a great job with the graphics. How about placing the ram's head either in-between or over the words: RamLock ______ Bullets?

Or, since there isn't any mention anywhere that these are specifically designed as Blackpowder Revolver Bullets, maybe the words "Blackpowder Revolver Bullets" could be employed instead, down below the ram's head?
The words "Cap & Ball Pistol Bullets" is another option to try, as is "Cap & Ball Revolver Bullets".
It's important to make the distinction crystal clear, because the caliber specifications are not interchangable with muzzle loading rifles of the same caliber.

What? Me have graphics skills? I'm lucky if I can even hit the right keys on the keyboard once in a while! :D

When possible! On SLOW dial up, all tha high speed is DOWN oh HELL!

LIKIN all the designs& effort and MORE LATER, dial up is killin me!

Here's idea #4.

Keep the ideas coming, and I'll keep the graphics part going - it's almost like this is what I did for a year or so as a job... ;)

or A tight fit everytime...
