I picked up a 4 pound jug of N320, probably the last one on the entire internet with all this COVID-19 craziness.

Was wondering what you’re experiencing have been with it, particularly in 9mm, 40, and 45ACP.

I’ve read nothing but good things, but any input would be great from anyone who’s used it. I don’t shoot completion, just like shooting my 10” gong at 25 yards.

What you’ve read is true. It’s a great powder, clean, accurate, plenty of load data, but it is pricy. I’ve shot several pounds of it over the years, but honestly there are plenty of other powders that work just as well for less. I’m sure you will like it though.

The main properties that I liked about it was how clean it burned, how consistently it metered, and how stable it was in changing temperatures. What I didn't like about it was that it wasn't available in 8lb jugs.

I've switch over from N320 to Alliant e3 for most of my 9mm loadings. For .45ACP, N310 is more popular

I'm a big fan of VihtaVuori powders for handguns. As others have mentioned its really clean burning and consistent. Based on recommendations from Wilson Combat I use N320 for .45ACP behind 200 grain bullets. Also use it for .40 S&W. For 9mm I slow it down just a little with N330. Had trouble for a long time trying to find a good source that carried it in stock, get it now from Brownells...a short drive away.

I recently bought a pound of 320 to try in my 45. I've only shot about fifty rounds, but the cases seemed cleaner and the shots felt very consistent. Can't say anything else about it except that I plan on doing more tests in the future.

I love the Vit lineup. The N300 is a single-base powder series. N310 is excellent in guns like 32ACP. N320 is excellent for 9mm competition rounds where you just want to make Minor PF. N330 is a better general purpose 9mm powder. N340 is an excellent powder for SD rounds. They all run cool and clean, and their stair-step power ranges make it easy to select the correct powder.

Their load data is also fairly accurate, too. HERE

It's excellent for pushing a 124 Gr 9MM bullet to around 1050ish FPS from a 5" barrel. For full power 9MM their slower powders are excellent.

It works great in .45 ACP.

It should work well for moderate .40 S&W loads, but I haven't tried it there.

You won't regret buying it.

Not going to use any powder I can't pronounce. Well that's not true. I have wanted to try to their powders since forever. The problem is most places where I buy powders don't carry their product line. Just the old standby stuff. Don't like ordering due to high fees.

Haven’t used N320 but I have used a few pounds of N110 in my revolvers. Definitely my favourite powder but it’s pretty expensive compared to 2400.

I love it. Have used many many pound of it pushing 180 gr bullet in 40S&W. As others have already said, clean burning, meters well. It is a pleasure to work with as far a pistol powders go.

N310 is my first pick but N320 is a close #2 both are cleaner than tightgroup, that is quite similar to N320 in burn rate. It will work fine for 9mm, 40 and 45.

I liked it a lot in .45 ACP.
Good for light-medium loads in 9mm,
Don't own a .40 so no idea about in in .40
Meters well. I think you will be quite happy with it.

I'm a big fan of it. Probably the lower recoil-for-power-factor of any powder I've tried (combination of low charge weights and single-base fomula making for lower ejecta velocity). Meters well, crazy tight/small SDs and ESs. The powder of choice in USPSA for the cost-insensitive gentlemen (who isn't trying to feed a compensator a lot of gas). Will not get you top velocities in any of the service calibers, of course.

I don’t shoot completion,
Nor do I, but one of my competition loads uses N320 in 9mm for minor.
I think it’s a really good powder but I don’t think it’s the panacea a lot claim it is. Some would have you believe it’s The all around smokeless, self cleaning, bullseye attracting, never miss powder.
I’ve loaded it in 9, 38, 40 and 45 and it is a very well behaved powder. I did have to push one of the 9mm loads a bit past VV’s max to make minor but felt comfortable doing it with a safe workup. You’ll find it’s a very good powder but I’m shooting more Sport Pistol for competition loads than N320 now. My last purchase was when VV was offering 4$/# rebate and I just had to get a bunch. Good luck!

Nor do I, and had no idea what minor power factor was when I developed my soft shooting fun 9MM plinker load with N320 running a 124 @ 1050ish from a 5" barre. I just knew it was fun, accurate, soft shooting and clean.

Congratulations on your acquisition. I've been trying to get more VV N320 since December. I had an order with MidWay USA, but they cancelled my N320 order. Sad, as I was buying just in time for the rebate. Happily, I got some N110 and 4lb of N330....which I've never used. I also have about 3 lbs remaining of my 3N37. The local (sorta) Vihtavuori dealer must not stock much of it, and they've never stocked 4lbs of any Vihtavuori powder, but I'm hoping he can get some just for me.
I know that VV powders cost a bit more than most other powders, but I've been extremely happy with everything I've loaded with it. Additionally, the projectile is my highest costing component in ANYTHING I've loaded. It ends up running about 2.5 cents per round for VV powders...less than what my primers have been costing.

I know that envy is one of the 7 deadlies....but I'm so jealous of your haul. AND jealous that you can buy it without hazmat and shipping.
