Anyone else buying off EBay ?

Just don’t buy any Magpul stuff /BUIS or any red dot optics unless you want crappy Chinese counterfeits.
Wut??? You mean that's not a real Elcan for $59? There's a lot of cheap crap on there and they're not all obvious.

At least this one is advertised as a replica for $280. Tempting to try one.

This is another side of the eBay/Amazon situation that not many people talk about. They blatantly rip off US inventors and small businesses and destroy people's livelihoods. It happens in every market where there's money to be made. For example this is a good guy who makes awesome parts and accessories for the Honda Goldwing line and he's been fighting eBay counterfeiters for years. It takes tons of money and time.

Ebay is good if you are a buyer. Not so good if you are a seller.

I wouldn't go that far, I was wanting to switch most of my 45 acp loading over to a super 1050 but didn't really want to spend the money on another one. Along came Obama part II and Sandy Hook, and I put my 45 acp 650 up for auction. I got enough for it that I called Gary and had a 45 acp Super 1050 two weeks later and enough money left over for a GSI bullet feeder for it too.

Just make sure shipping isn't going to get you, I don't sell with free shipping but thats the way I buy most of the time.

Ebay is my go-to source for brand new-in-packaging magazines. They have the best prices from what I have found. For instance, a 3-pack of new Ruger 10/22 BX-1 10-round magazines is just under $40 including shipping. Some firearms related online vendors have them for a little cheaper, but once you factor in $15-$20 or more for shipping the Ebay option is much less expensive not to mention the various buyer's protections you get.

Yup - ebay is often a great choice when you only want one or two small items and don't want to pay retail plus shipping.

I bought some NEF pardner parts for old single barrels from eBay. It’s about as reliable as anywhere else, provided you know what you’re looking for.

I've bought gun parts & a couple of Dan Wesson barrels on ebay. Bought quite a few holsters & revolver grips made by manufacturers long out of business. Bucheimer & Herretts are a couple that come to mind.

I have been buying off ebay since every auction on their site took less then 500 pages to list all of them. Things are a heck of a lot safer for the buyers since then.

The hammer on my Bersa 380 (first pistol I ever purchased more than 30 years ago) cracked decades ago I purchased every internal part from a same generation gun for $30 about 6 months ago. Same for my Star 22lr pistol.

Just last week I purchased a CPS CC220 Refrigerant Charging Scale for $55 so I can accurately recharge my own heat pump without having to call the local HVAC hacks. It is a little dirty and scratched up but a heck of a lot cheaper than $250 for a new one and the used one works perfectly.

I have purchased a LOT of stuff on ebay over the years and never really gotten screwed. Knowing what you are purchasing and doing proper research before hitting the buy button is key to getting a good deal.

I once was in a bit of a bidding war for a half sheet orbital sander like my fathers that I broke as a kid. Some A hole out bid me at the last minute. I looked at the user name of the person I lost to... it was the ebay account that I had setup for my father... he is the one that out bid me!
