I think I have a full blown rash. Grouse and black bear open first of September here, and I can't wait to just get out, do some hiking, and take some grouse with my bow, 1862 Colt, and M95 Nagant revolver. I just got a bear recently, so they will be safe. As they usually are anyhow, being much more woods-wise than I. Very difficult to really get a shot at one. See them often enough, but then they is gone! (by the time I can gauge their size, and make sure there's no cubs)
I think cougar opens in September, I forget, I think I'm ready for another one, if I got a shot at a really nice big one. Where I hunt, the place is crawling with them, but you never see them. The one I got I called in, otherwise,
never see them. (but they see me I'm sure)
Might do some calling, just to see what else comes in. One day I called in some wolves. 25 yards away, that was "interesting".
