Anyone have a 1911 style 9mm?

I am with Huntershooter on this.

My Dan Wesson Pointman 9 might be my favorite range handgun. It is very accurate and has a very soft recoil. I like shooting the 45 too, but 9mm is a lot cheaper, so I shoot it more.

I did have a problem with mine on it's first outing. I think it was just mag related, but CZ wanted me to send it back to them. They fixed it and I had it back in less than 2 weeks. It didn't cost me anything but time and gas. I was happy with their customer service.

^ No, and don't do it. It is more economical, all things considered, to get an economy gun like the Rock Island (if available in 9mm). A good enough gun, with no quirky problems than can arise from "parts kits" and fitting, etc. Or get a 9mm barrel for a .38 super, or slide and barrel for use on another 1911 (with some extra parts needed, depending on the gun).

9mm 1911 preference...

Would recommend to ya the Para Carry 9. The Compact size is great for carry and it's a good shooter. The downsize is, carry the mags around on a logging chain as they are a (*&^ to find if one gets lost....Semper Fi !

Don't forget the original 9mm 1911 gun - the Colt Commander. Doin' it in 9 since 1950. Lightweight, or all-steel (this one is steel). I really enjoy shooting this gun. Colt doesn't currently make a 9mm variant, but good used ones are not at all hard to find.

Built from the ground up, not a chopped 45.

6400 rounds, no problems, great point and shoot SD/HD gun, tack driver, and, as mentioned, a bit pricy but well worth the long-term investment.

Pure joy to own and shoot, every-time

I was looking for one a few years ago. Bought the first one I found (looking online and locally), an STI Spartan.

Real soft shooting pistol. My only complaints are that I used to slow the slide down enough with my high-thumb grip to cause malfunctions, something that never happened with .45, and the slide had a lot of sharp edges that resulted in a little blood...

Its not on carry duty yet since I haven't put it through the wringer.

Had the hat...so I needed to get the pistol. Not really, the pistol was a gift from my wife. Only a couple hundered rounds through it so far. But as you might expect from STI, performs wonderfully. Unbelievably tight, but smooth.
