Are guns your passion?

Interesting and entertaining responses. I appreciate all that has shared. Glad to see there are others that have the love of guns that I do.

One aspect mentioned is gun related books. I collect gun books and hunting books. I read them as well as collect. A member over on cast bullets forum gifted me his collection of gun digests. A couple dozen. I am working through them as well as others.

I’m almost done with sixguns and I’m looking for hell I was there... but I can’t justify paying $100 for a copy right now.

I wouldn't say guns are the only passion for me. I have many passions and interests in my life and hunting, shooting and reloading are among them. If guns were my only passion I would have a lot more of them because I wouldn't be spending money on other things.

I've actually found some of these old books at thrift stores and used book stores. A few at yard sales and estate sales. Even a couple from notices posted on the bulletin board at my gun club. Sure beats paying the inflated prices on Amazon or Ebay (if you can find 'em).
my main Passion is Politics! ! ! !
What?! I thought your main passion was exclamation points!!!!;)

My obituary will read, "Old Dog was also a firearms enthusiast, life-long shooter, hunter, educator and aficionado of fine, collectible guns." The mention of me in Reader's Digest will simply note, "He was a gun nut."

They’re my passion too.

My biggest hobby and I take pride in shooting and especially like historical guns (I love black powder) and simpler guns.

Reader Digest! !! ! !! !

Not so much anymore. Guitars, writing, exercise, jiu jitsu, and meditation all get more of my time and money than guns these days. Guns have fallen into a category where they're a tool that I occasionally enjoy for recreation.

How much money does meditation take?

I do look at thrift stores and yardsales. I have gotten a few like that.

I once was given a box of NAHC books and videos. The complete hunting book set at a yardsale. They were trying to sell it and had no takers, when I showed interest, they gave it to me. I lost it all when my house burnt unfortunately.

"a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything :a passion for music."

Lets see...
I get out of bed put on shorts and a Glock (17/22) goes on my belt.
Eating breakfast, posting on THR that Glock is on my belt.
Walking the dogs, errands, in the FL heat, Glock is on belt.
Lunch, posting on THR, you guessed it, Glock on belt.
Watching TV in the evening, Glock still on belt, despite being in a "good area".

Does that sound like a strong fondness for something? Yea, and I'm enthusiastic about doing it right.

Guns are definitely one of my bigger passions/hobbies/interests. They’re fascinating and I love to read about them and shoot them. They tie in nicely with my interest in history. I can see my pace of acquisition slowing down since I’ve picked up most of what I’d like to experience. The thing is, they aren’t a “great” investment, but they can do ok and aren’t really a money loser, unlike some other hobbies like cars/motorcycles, so it’s easy to justify.

You had 20 #1’s RESPECT!

I got 2, 7STW and 45/70 - Looking for a #1 in 12 Gauge
It was a furiously hot, but short-lived affair. Lol. I love them, but I love accuracy and consistency and No. 1s just aren’t known for those attributes. That said, I didn’t find them to be as inaccurate as the internet would have most people believe.
